Chapter 8

JAX Fuck, I drank her blood. The way she looked at me while we were f*****g, made me want her more. I knew she was asleep as I could feel her body get heavy. I never thought I would do that. I never did that, not with anyone. I glanced around and noticed Vance looking at me. Most of them were done, except Paula and Jake. He was f*****g her hard against the wall. I looked toward Ward and Vance, motioning them to come with me. They both nodded. I needed to place my sleeping princess down. I walked over to the seating area and laid her down gently. Both of the guys watched as I placed her down. Renee was silently sleeping, but I could tell she was happy. I stood up, but I noticed Ward’s eyes on her neck. His eyes met mine, and they were wide. We all turned around and headed out through the door, not saying a word. We headed toward the men’s bathroom and walked inside. There was no one around, and as I leaned on the sink, “YOU BITE HER,” shouted Ward, who was angry. “You never do that, and you know how intimate that is.” I didn’t say anything; I was trying to wrap my head around the whole thing. The way I have been acting with her. Ward carried on. “Riley nearly had a heartache when she saw you do that,” he muttered. “She will have a word with the girls.” That statement had me frowning at him. “Why?” I asked. Ward stared at me. “You can’t be serious,” he said. “She is human, and she can’t come with us. She would be killed.” I stared at him, but I looked at Vance, who hadn’t said a word. His eyes were on me. “Vance, tell him,” shouted Ward. Vance stared at me but sighed. “She’s your mate, isn’t she?” he asked. I stared at him wide-eyed. Could she be my mate? No, she couldn’t be. But I already knew the answer; it would explain how I felt toward her. I stared at him, trying to figure it out. But he carried on talking. “Jax, the way you were when Riley mentioned having a threesome with Ward and her. You would never turn them down, not for a human,” he said. I stared at him, not moving. “You never once looked at Paula or anyone of us, or whoever we brought when we were f*****g. I mean the way you looked at her, you only had eyes for Renee.” I didn’t say anything. “Jax, you told her that her p***y was yours,” he said with a slight smirk forming on his face. Ward cleared his throat. “Jax,” he asked, which made me look at him. “For us Vampires to know they are our mates, we have tingles the first time we meet them, and we can never look at anyone else. We only have eyes for that one person.” I stared at him, but a sudden realization hit me. I felt the tingles when I touched her hand and brought her in with me the first time we touched each other. I licked my tongue over my lips as my mouth and lips were dry. Fuck, could Renee be my mate? I looked at both of my friends. “I think,” I said and sighed. “I think you both are right. She’s my mate.” They both looked at me and smiled. “Finally,” said Vance. “I can now tell Paula she’s mine.” My mouth dropped open, and I stared at him. Vance laughed. “I knew she was my mate,” he said. “I had her around me all the time because of it. But I had to work up the courage to tell her, and now that my friend is her best friend’s mate, we can tell them together.” I smirked, but I looked at Ward. He was smiling. “That explains the need you had for Paula; you never have the same girl,” he said. We all found our mates. Now we have to tell them. “I guess we better get back inside and sort this all out,” Ward said. We all turned on our heels and headed back into the booth area. When we were inside, there was only Riley. “Where are the girls?” I asked with a frown. Riley stood up and placed the strap of her dress on her shoulder. “Oh, I told them to leave as this was the last we would be here,” she said with a smile. I hissed while Vance growled. “YOU DID WHAT?” shouted Vance and me together. Riley took a step back and was shocked. “I told them to leave,” she said. “Riley,” Ward said warningly. “You had best tell us everything you said.” I looked at him; something was written on his face, and he wasn’t too happy with her. What the hell was this all about? Riley stared at him, but anger came sweeping in. “I told those little sluts to leave; they were only here for your pleasure,” she said. I used my speed, wrapped my hand around her neck, and slammed her into the wall behind her. “YOU STUPID b***h,” I roared. “YOU HAD NO RIGHT; THEY ARE OUR MATES.” Riley’s eyes popped open wide as I squeezed. “I didn’t know,” she sputtered out. I could feel someone’s hand on my shoulder. I loosen my grip and let her fall to the floor. I turned to see Ward, who was staring at Riley. “Go outside; you might catch them,” he said, not looking at me. I turned toward the booth, and Vance and I ran straight out and headed to the front of the club. The sun was slowly coming up, but there was no sign of the girls. I stared around, but in the distance was a cab driving outside and turning onto the road toward the town. We had just missed them. I looked over to Vance, who was on the verge of shifting. “Don’t,” I said. “We need to do this right.” Vance looked at me, but after a few moments of calming his wolf down, he nodded. I could see the pain running deep; his wolf must have been hurt. I knew how they felt; I wanted Renee. Vance stared at me for a moment but let out a long sigh. “You’re right,” he said. “How are we going to know where to find them?” I knew how, and we had to blend in with humans. This was going to be something to see, I thought. We avoid interacting with humans at all costs. I didn’t say anything, only motioning for him to follow me. We turned toward the club but weren’t returning to the booth. As we got inside, Riley and Ward could be heard as we walked in, arguing. A steward was trying to defuse the situation, but the way Ward was, there was no way to get through to him for a while. The waiter, Jake, was standing there with their clothes. Jake handed me mine, but he looked at Vance. “I never knew she was your mate,” he said, with dread on his face. He must have thought Vance wanted to kill him. Vance nodded. “Jake, I like to share,” he said smugly. “I won’t mind you joining us again, but you keep to her ass.” Jake looked stunned, but a slow smile on his face appeared. I was happy that Vance was pleased to do that with Paula, but I don’t think I could do that with Renee again. I want her all to myself, or if she wants to do something like this again, my c**k is the only c**k that goes in her p***y. I meant that the first time I saw her, but I would only do this again unless Renee wanted to. Once we were dressed, I looked at Jake and Vance. “Now, we need to get some IDs,” I said to Vance, who nodded. Jake looked at us, confused. “Why?” he asked. I looked at him, but a grin was plastered on my face. “We need to get our mates,” I said. Jake nodded and smiled. “Well, let me help you,” he said. “I know someone who can make decent ones.” Jake led us toward another room and told his boss what was happening. We need to get to our mates and fast.
