Narrator
“Your highness, he is a mere slave. He doesn’t need too much food.” He bluntly stated. “He must be punished. He was the one found trespassing in our territory, and he is our slave your majesty. Why should we feed him too much? He does have enough to stay alive.”
Volga’s bold statement made the king feel infuriated. He narrowed his eyes at the buff, hairy man in front of him. How dare he speak like that. All Volga had to do was make sure that the slave did his work right. He didn’t have the right to starve him or torture him, but the king was pretty much aware of how he treated his slaves. Many of them have died in the palace, but each time it was ruled out as them being too weak to survive.
But now, the king had started to think that Volga was treating them too harshly. Yes, humans are weak and vulnerable. But he didn’t see it as a necessity to torture them as long as they didn’t do anything wrong.
“No. Volga. That is where you are wrong.”
The king’s voice was solemn and deep, making everyone in the room go completely silent. It was obvious that the king was unhappy about Volga’s reaction.
“Yes. They have trespassed our territory, and yes he is a slave. But that doesn’t mean that he should be starved. I have seen him work hard and perhaps you haven’t realised, but I have noticed that his work is pretty good. I just am utterly disappointed in you Volga, for thinking that ‘a mere servant’ doesn’t have the right for a full meal at least once a day. I am disgusted that during the past month, he had been surviving on food scraps and you think that it is perfectly fine.”
The king’s voice gradually increased in volume, and Volga humbled himself, sensing that he had crossed his boundaries.
“I have heard rumours, Volga, that you had always been torturing those who were under you. But I have never seen enough proof. But now I want an answer from you. Is it true that you whipped him till he bled to death?” he asked calmly.
Volga straightened himself and held himself with pride.
“Your majesty. He was pathetic and weak. It was not my fault he couldn’t stand a thousand lashes.” He replied with no remorse.
The king shook his head in disappointment.
“From now on, Volga you are dismissed from the position of being in charge of my slaves. You may leave.” He stated to everyone’s surprise. But no one said anything. The queen supported his decision and their daughter, princess Sasha held back her smirk. She never liked Volga. She had always felt that Volga was being too cruel towards the inferior.
In the past, she had tried numerous times to show her parents that Volga had used unnecessary force on their slaves and workers, but they never believed her.
Draco on the other hand was feeling a mixture of euphoria and relief. He wanted to shout in joy, punching in the air. He desired to taunt Volga just once. However, he was careful not to show his emotions to anyone. If he was going to celebrate, he would do it separately.
Volga let out a huff of breath angrily and took a single glance at Draco the slave, who had brought him to this level. That’s right. Volga blamed Draco for everything. It was Draco’s fault that he was being kicked out of the palace. Without saying a single word, Volga stomped out of the huge palace, mentally cursing Draco for ruining his life.
“I will make sure you pay lowly human beings! Just wait and watch. I will carry out my plan and avenge every one of you. And when I do, I will make sure that you beg for mercy before I finish your pathetic lives ” He grumbled under his breath as he stomped out of the missive gates of the palace.
After walking a considerable distance away from them, Volga turned around to take one last glance at the palace of the wizard kingdom. A sly smirk curved his cracked lips.
“You have made a huge mistake dear king.” He murmured. “You will pay.” He promised before snapping his fingers and teleporting himself elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Draco was allowed to go back to complete his daily tasks, which he gladly obliged. With Volga out of his way, he was motivated to do better work for them. He didn’t mind cooking and cleaning, as long as he wasn’t tortured or overworked. And with Volga gone, that was pretty much possible. Besides, while doing his chores, he got the chance to secretly admire and watch the Knights in action, which he tried to mimic every night.
He was fascinated by the swordsmen and he just wished that he too could own a sword to practice his skills. But that was just a faraway dream for him.
He was trimming the overgrown leaves from the plants and hedges before watering them. His heart was filled with content and he couldn’t stop himself from smiling. He no longer had to fear Volga anymore. And that was such a relief. He did his work to the best he could nonetheless. He didn’t want the king to think that he needed to be supervised once again.
“And that’s done.” He murmured to himself and looked at his work in satisfaction. He had done an excellent job.
“Good job Draco.” He smirked. If no one was going to appreciate his work he was going to pay himself on the back. He had to face every hurdle, at least until he found a way to go back home. He was about to climb down the ladder he was on when he suddenly stumbled down from it, landing on the ground with a huge crash.
Draco whimpered and groaned in pain as he tried to straighten himself up. When he heard some people roaring at laughter, he felt as if he suddenly forgot his pain. Shocked, he turned his head towards them. A group of four or five knights were bending over in laughter trying to control themselves.
A sense of feeling inferior and humiliated washed over Draco. However, he stood up and brushed away the dirt from his clothes. He sighed and continued with his work as if nothing had happened. He knew that it must have been their doing. They must have done something to the ladder to make him fall. Perhaps they used magic.
“Hey! Weirdo! How about massaging my back tonight?” one of them taunted him.
“I also want a massage!” another one called out.
“We want some help from you to j******f!” the first one called out and all of them roared in laughter once again.
Pausing his lips, he tried his best to ignore their taunts. However, he couldn’t help grit his teeth. They were so annoying. j******f? What did they think he was? Gay? Well, they were in for a disappointment. He was as straight as a pole.
But he’d rather say nothing. He just wanted them to leave him alone. Maybe if he ignored them, they would get bored and leave. He tried his best to focus on the water hose. He was certain that he had aimed at the trees, but the water came right into his face, soaking him wet from head to toe.
He gasped for breath and dropped the water hose, before wiping the water from his face. The group of bullies were already laughing their heads off.
“Whoa. Man look at that body!” one of them exclaimed. Draco looked down. The loose shirt was now clinging to his body, somehow, revealing his muscles and toned abs. Yes, he had lost a lot of weight within a month, however, his body was still attractive. After all, he had worked out regularly for several years in the past, until he found himself in this hellhole.
“Yeah....he looks delicious!” they started to advance at Draco, making his heart skip a beat. What were they going to do to him?
Draco’s eyes travelled around in concern, and he took steps backing away from them. But there was nothing much he could do. They were stronger than him, had magical powers and there was nowhere for him to hide.
Gulping down anxiously he continued to step away from them, but before he could run away, one of them grabbed his arm and yanked Draco towards him. Draco resisted but that only made them hurt him. He felt his arm being twisted, making him yelp in pain.
“Let me go!” Draco protested. But that only made them tackle Draco down onto the dirt and pin him down.
“Let me go!!!” Draco screamed, still unwilling to give in to them. He could feel his attacker pressing himself against his back, which was irking him to no extent.
“Listen, you worthless being! We would do whatever we please. If we desire to have you, we will. And there is no way you can overpower us.” He hissed into Draco’s ears.
Slowly, Draco felt his energy being sucked out of his body. He groaned and struggled against the perpetrators but his efforts were in vain. He was about to give in when he heard a voice he never thought he would.
“What is going on here!?” the deep and manly voice of the king demanded.
