KYLE LOUW
This moment was just so perfect. The girl I want to give my heart to just agreed to be my girlfriend and I enjoyed kissing her so much until we were rudely disturbed by her evil stepsister. Just look at her, laughing so evilly outside my side of the window. To be honest, I am not actually bothered by her, but if it makes my woman uncomfortable, then that makes me uncomfortable.
“Princess, relax,” I calmly tell her.
“I can’t, Kyle, I can’t. She is going to tell our dad,” She panics as tears stream out of her eyes.
“She won’t, I promise you,” I assure her, but she shakes her head.
“You don’t know that, Kyle. That is Thando, and she hates me. She will do anything to make her dad see me differently,” She cries out.
“Open the door!” Thando screams, outside. I growl, lowly before I aggressively open the door and jump out of the car.
“What do you want, Thando?” I ask her, but she just laughs.
“Look at you, ‘Mr. Protect My Girl’. I just want you to know that dad is going to find out about this,” She says in a threatening tone.
“Oh, so who is going to tell him; you? Do your best, baby girl,” I sneer at her.
“You think I am joking, I see, but I want you to know that I am not bluffing. Dad is going to kill you, and you Yolanda, those crocodile tears won’t help you when dad takes you back to where you come from. Gosh, you are so disgusting. I heard what happened in the bathroom. Was it nice watching your best friend kissing your ex-boyfriend? I bet not, but to run to another man and bury your tongue in his mouth like that? Shame on you; I thought you were better than that. My dad always thought I am disobedient, but at least I never hid who I am, but you hide behind your books, pretending to be the "perfect” stepdaughter in front of his eyes, but look at you… well, well, well. I can’t wait for dad to know about her favourite stepdaughter,” Oh, so that is what made Yolanda rush to give me her answer about being my girlfriend? I think we need to address this matter because I do not want to be her rebound.
Yolanda gets out of the car, click-clanking her high heels as she makes her way to us, and just before I knew it, she hits Thando across her face. Thando screams and holds her face. Well, that caught both of us by surprise because I did not expect that.
“You know nothing about me, Thando! Stop saying things you don’t know. If you want to go and tell dad, fine, but never say things about me that you don’t even know!” Yolanda scoffs at her.
Thando starts crying, and I am just standing between the two stepsisters, unsure of what to do next.
“You hit me,”
“And I will do it over and over again if I have to. I am tired of being persecuted by you, Thando. Do you think I relish living with you and YOUR dad? Well, it is not by choice, but it is because my mother left me there! Lord knows how much I cannot wait to leave that mansion as much as you do not want me there. If you must know, I got accepted at the University of Johannesburg I will finally leave you and your dad,” Yolanda blirts out, and I widen my eyes with a smile.
“What? Princess, why didn’t you tell me… congratulations,” I pull her into my embrace, forgetting about Thando.
“I received an email earlier today, and I just need to do well in my final exams,”
“I am so happy for you. Congratulations,”
“Thank you,” We pull away from the hug and stare into each other’s eyes.
“Get in the car,” I say to her. She was about to say something but then decides against it as if she could tell that I was not going to ask her twice.
I close my side of the door and come face to face with Thando.
“You are not going to tell your dad about Yolanda and I, and for your own good, Thando, stay away from Yolanda. The only person you need to blame is your father, but I actually want to thank him for marrying Yolanda’s mother because if it wasn’t for that, Yolanda and I would have never met. Yolanda did not just rock up into your home to replace you; your father brought her there so if there is anyone you want to be mad at, is your father, but I bet you do not have the guts to tell him but so quickly to run to him to tell him about us. Go ahead and tell him, but make sure that you add how you sneak that little boyfriend of yours into your room. Oh, wait, is that why you wanted Yolanda’s room so bad because it has a sliding door that leads to that backyard? Easy access, huh?” She gasps, not saying a word.
“Wait, you thought I didn’t know? I even lost count of how many times you brought your boyfriend to your room to do God-knows-what. But hey, I am not judging you. Go ahead and tell your dad about us and see if I care. Go and say goodbye to your friends because you just ruined a beautiful night for all of us. I am responsible for you if you must know, so you had too much fun, and now you need to go home. You have five minutes,” I open the door and get inside the car. The car only fits two people in, but the three of us are going to make it home, plus the sisters are both slender.
I am giving Thando some time to think about what she wants to do, and I hope she comes to her senses.
“What were you two talking about?” Yolanda asks. Well, if she must know, I did the talking.
“I was just telling her to go and say goodbye to her friends because we are going home,”
“In the same car? Where is she going to sit?” She asks, surprised.
“Right next to you, Princess… come here and let me kiss you once more,” I lean to capture her lips with mine, but the kiss is cut short when she pulls away.
“My dad is not going to be happy about this. I will never get to see you again, Kyle,” She is right, but she probably does not know that her father is capable of doing something more than just separating us. That man is the Alpha, and his children are a NO-GO ZONE. Sadly, they just don’t know who their father really is.
“I got you something. I wanted to give it to you earlier, but it will only make sense to give it to you now to compliment your achievement at the university, my little doctor,” I take out a necklace made of white gold and has two gold hearts.
“Kyle, oh my God, I love it… thank you,” She moves closer and hugs me.
“Babe, are you sure that this is what you want? Do you really want to be with me?” I ask her as I cup her face, but she looks down.
I sigh.
“Yes, Kyle. I want to be with you,”
“I do not want you to feel pressured. Tell you what; sleep on it, think about it and call me tomorrow if you still think that it is me that you want to be with from deep down in your heart. I am not really a patient man, but for you, I will wait for as long as I can,” I peck her lips.
Thando opens the door, causing Yolanda to roll her eyes.
“Can’t I share the seat with you, Kyle?” She asks, annoyed.
“Then how am I supposed to drive, babe? Come on, shift up.”
I turn on the radio, just to cut down the thick atmosphere in the car. The news goes on and the reporter starts talking about the heist we did a month ago, and she mentions that there have been some developments that involve the Alpha. I act normal and keep driving.
“Who is this Alpha? He must be caught and arrested! He has tormented too many families!” Yolanda complains, but I keep quiet and just keep on driving.
