Chapter 6

Andreas In the midst of the loud noise of music that almost pierced my sensitive ears, I was standing, leaning on the edge of the bar, staring at my empty glass with the tip of my hand... I breathed deeply, inhaling all those scents around me... As usual, nothing special here, strong perfumes mingled with the smell of different bodies. I cast my gaze toward the flash of colors in front of me--the dave's cabaret--that little lit sign of the cabaret's name lit up above the wine-cup. Dave's nightclub, which is located in a neutral area of the city of Cologne to bring together humans and mutants. After an exhausting day at work, I had promised to spend in this place what was left of me from time to day. On this day, in an unprecedented manner, everyone spoke, as usual, in a loud voice amid the clamor of the band's performance. I had picked up what was going on from a conversation between them, which was about the passing of a number of new people to the city of Kolog this morning, which caused an uproar in the area, and the reason was that most of the converts wanted to make them their prey. I do not deny that I was also curious about their coming, but I had the opportunity to meet one of them this morning at my place of work. That girl had something suspicious of her, and her eyes were still stuck in my head. I turned around as I watched the many girls here in those short and tight dresses, I needed some amusement trying to escape from the ghosts of the past that cast their shadows upon me every time I tried to sit by myself. ... looking for prey!? .... I got the perverted whisper out of my head, I'm not that kind, and I don't want to be the predator anyway. "Another glass!" said the pale waitress with a smile. who has just watched her come out from behind the wine cabinet after being bitten by her vampire boyfriend's fangs. "No," I said, pushing the money in front of her, and then turning to leave. It's time for my training tonight. The Hoya-Bakyu Forest was not at peace when I could hear the screaming and hissing of the vampires here, interrupting my running through the thick trees. I would never have cared for curious tourists to enter here. They cared about taking pictures and adventures, to escape in the end, or for the vampire to turn them into his servants, or perhaps to kill them to drink their blood. But that smell made me change course and cross the other side of the forest.... I watched through the trees a trembling girl, who looked like a little golden rabbit, while Marcus' bloodthirsty boys surrounded her. I felt my duty to protect her and without delay I rescued her from them, the strange thing was that she did not scream or run away from me when she saw my complete transformation in front of her, which caused more curiosity in me towards her, but I returned her to her companions who tried to escape without her! My leg was jiggling under the table when we were sitting down for a late meal at the group house and after we got back from company, I was still lost on what happened last night...girl, protection, wanting to kiss...what's all this? I met many human women and my feeling wasn't the same, but this girl?! I remember her hazel eyes and golden hair... Could she be... "Andreas!" Shruddy interrupted my father's voice And he continued, "What's wrong with you? I was talking to you?" He said "I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention" I said My brothers Frederick and Mars were still eating in silence, and I wondered if it was time to tell my father what had happened in the woods, something so important that it could not be hidden from the leader of the Silver Wolf, who was my father. "Last night...I had a fight with Marcos' followers in the Baccio Forest," I said, turning the knife into my plate. My dad wasn't surprised, "I know, this morning I got a call from Marcus," he said I looked up at him, "What did I tell you?" I said curiously "He was angry and was demanding compensation, after you stormed the borders of his lands as you stole a girl for them, did you really do that?" he said. I could feel the gazes of both of you and Mars, who both stopped eating and listened enthusiastically to our conversation. I remained silent, but Frederick made up for it when he stood up, "I apologise, I'm leaving for Dot-Wolf's headquarters, I have something to do," he said. He pulled the chair out from behind him, while my younger brother Mars was still leaning on his hands, staring at me until Frederick shouted at him. "Mars, come on. You have some errands in the company, you haven"t finished them yet." He said "Oh, I almost forgot... then," said Mars I watched both Frederick and Mars leave the house, in fact I was not yet accustomed to sharing what I do with the assembled family, I had hardly announced that I was rejoining the group after being a rogue wolf in the woods. "You can tell me what happened there," said my father "I don"t know what to tell you except that I saved a human girl from the clutches of vampires," I said My father kept silent and knew how sensitive it was to me, especially when it came to protecting a girl, which means a lot to me. She continued because he remained silent "I just felt the need for protection" I said "You shouldn't get involved in things like this unless you care about them," he said I stood in my place to leave, "Of course not, it can be said that it was just a passing situation and it's over" I said and my nervousness started to appear "Andreas, listen to me, Marcus will demand the girl or bargain for concessions we can make to him," said he "What! And what does the girl have to do with us?" I said in astonishment "He thinks that the matter of the girl matters to you when you first quarreled with his followers for her, so he will use the matter to his advantage, and you know that he is one of our fiercest competitors since ancient times," he said. I remained silent in thought, I don't think I had put that girl into complicated matters, either way she was in danger. "Do you think I should find her to tell her?" I said "If you are interested in her... then yes, because he will find her there in most cases, but it is better for her to go home as soon as possible," said my father. "It"s not like that, I mean..." I said We were interrupted by the sound of the door opening, and my mother entered with the bags in her hand, "Hello, it looks like you ate without me," she said with a smile as she put the things on the table. She turned towards us and looked around, "Is there anything?" she said "Excuse me, I have to go, I'm late for work, we'll talk later." I told my mother I left the house for the butcher's shop, which was like jogging for me, throughout the day I tried to fill my spare time as much as possible, to come back at the end of the day completely tired. I put on my work uniform and began to prepare the cuts of meat, while a part of my mind was occupied with how to persuade that girl to leave here. "s**t!" "Andreas, is everything all right?" said my colleague Caden, watching me "Yeah, just a small cut." I said as I wrapped a handkerchief around my finger "You pure wolves do not need to heal your wounds," he said "But you're better off than we are about keeping to the wolf's laws," I replied "Oh, the rules, that's what we're missing, I don't need them," Caden said, walking toward the little cupboard to get a box of chocolates out of it. "My wife has given birth to a baby," Caden said, handing me bits of it "Congratulations, Kaden," I said while eating a piece of it while I kept the other in my pocket "What about your wife, is she okay?" I told him "Yeah...but she was still mad at me when she caught me kissing and hugging Sila mourning her mother's death," he said with a smile. "You bastard, a traitor, a traitor," I said as I took the handkerchief off my hand "What should I do with myself I love all the girls and women here, what about you?" he said I didn't answer him and just raised my middle . . . in his face and then left the place, I no longer wanted to continue talking to Sean about his love for women I was now standing in front of the butcher, and I could see the house in which that girl was staying with the others, the four-wheel drive still standing in front of it. How can I get there and ask to speak with her and convince her that she is in danger? I also forgot to ask her about her name. I lit my cigarette and kept standing watching the place and suddenly the door of the house opened and everyone, including that girl, came out, and they were carrying guns! What did those idiots want from the jungle!! Everyone got into the car and I saw them drive off into the woods, hey, are they doing it again now? And when they may take the girl again, it will be dangerous for her to return there. I raised my eyes to the sky, it would be sunset in less than an hour from now, I threw my cigarette away and put my jacket over my head and ran from behind them. ----Mileen---- Really, I was worried, a feeling in me that something bad was going to happen to us, "Nate, I don't like the idea of staying there after sunset," I said. "We have no choice but vampires come out only at night," he said in a harsh tone Tour guide Jack was listening silently to our conversation, and this time he parked the car in a different place in the woods than last time... "You can go now," he said, still sitting still "Won"t you come with us?" I said as I got ready to go down "No, I can't. As I said before, I've agreed with Nate to take a ride just north of the woods, but he changes his mind," he said. I stood next to Nate and the others and Nate was checking a camera while Jacqueline and the rest of the men got their guns ready. "We can leave the girl here," Jacqueline said "No, you're coming with us, we didn't bring the meat this time," Nate said insistently What? I furrowed my eyebrows, not understanding what Nate meant when he exchanged vague looks with Jacqueline, who seemed unhappy with my coming with them. "Let's go," Jacqueline said We started walking in the woods. I tried to take some pictures of strange looking trees even though I'm not a fan of photography, but I did it out of some boredom, the wolf man came to my mind, what if I met him again here? Will he be angry with me for telling my comrades part of the truth? "Stop!" Jacqueline said in a surprised manner He continued, "Did you listen to these voices!?..." He said We stopped at our places and looked around... ---Mileen---- + Everyone stiffened in their places, and as we turned cautiously around us, I tried to focus on those sounds and whispers of women's laughter and crying that reverberated sporadically and terrifyingly throughout the forest. "What was that?" Jacqueline said "Don't pay attention to her, just fantasies I read about before, try not to listen to her," said Nate We all hurried to walk and I put both hands on my ears, after the loudness of the voices rose, which would drive me crazy, and suddenly one of Jacqueline's men fired his rifle and retreated back to stumble on the ground, causing us all to panic. "What's wrong, man? Why are you shooting like that?" Jacqueline shouted to his companion
