Settling in

*Rylee’s POV* When I walk out today the bathroom, I see that room service has been Delivered. Amy, Ally and Adam are all settled and eating. I sit on the edge of the bed, and Adam hands me my food, and I notice a red Rose on my tray. I look at Adam, and he shrugs “you made an impression on the owner of the hotel, so he wanted to welcome you here and have dinner and flowers sent up for you and this” Adam hands me an envelope, and I open it inside is a note and a big wad of cash I put the money to the side and read the letter Rylee Thank you for the company during our long flight. Have Dinner with me tomorrow night in Vegas. I will pick you up at 8 pm and use the money for some fun. I noticed you packed in a hurry so you might need some new clothes R I look at Adam, and he chuckles, “do you know who it’s from, Ry?” I shake my head, but inside I hope it’s Rick, but I doubt it. He said he was in Australia on business, so I assume he works for someone And was sent on the trip, I hand the letter to Adam, and he screws it up and throws it in the trash, then he stands up and begins to pace then looks at me “well, Ry, what are you going to do with the money?” I shrug “spend it, I guess” Amy and Ally whoop and declare after dinner, we hit the shops! So I finish up my food and get dressed, and then we head to the elevators and head to the lobby. As I step off the elevator, my phone rings I look down and see it’s Jamie. I sigh “guys, and I need to make this go on without me. I’ll catch up.” They all look at me and nod, and leave me to take the call “Hello?” “Ry, Don’t hang up, Baby.” “Jamie, you have exactly two minutes, so make them count.” “Ry, where are you? I’m waiting outside your parent's house for you to come home. We need to talk!” “Jamie, we have talked. I sent you the papers. Would you please sign them and leave me be? You made your choice when you Fell into Samantha’s Vagina.” “Baby comes home. I want to talk in person; I love you, and I will do all I can to get you back. I made a mistake. Please give me a chance!” I laugh on the inside a chance he wants a chance after he stomped on my heart! “I’m not coming home, Jamie. I’m in La, you know, in America I don’t think you deserve a chance you have already proved I didn’t mean anything to you.” “Ry, I’m not going to let this go. I’m not signing the papers. Come home where you belong. I miss you.” I feel like I’m going to explode, and my chest tightens, then Fat tears begin to Roll down my face. I look in the Direction that Ally, Amy and Adam went. I hang up on Jamie, and I send a text to Ally Ally, I’m going back to the room. I don’t feel up to going shopping. Have fun tho I’ll see you guys when you get back I go back to the elevators and hit the penthouse floor. I fumble in my bag to find the door key and then slide down the wall and hide my face in my knees. I don’t realise a man is in the elevator with me “Excuse me, miss, are you okay?” I ignore him, and I stand up and focus on the door. Once the elevator gets to my floor, I make my way to the door and let myself in. I go to the balcony and look up at the stars, and that’s when it truly hits me. I’m alone, and I will never truly be loved. No matter what, I will always be the girl who will be another notch on a guys bedpost! I flip down on the couch and sit in silence. My phone rings again, and it’s Jamie, so I hit answer “What, Jamie, what bull s**t do you want to tell me how you got what you wanted? I was another notch on the bedpost you proved that and that our marriage meant nothing to you, so what the f**k do you want.” The line goes quiet, and I’m left sobbing, “Jamie, please leave me alone can’t you see you broke me? You win, I get it; I will never be good enough.” My voice betrays me, and I let out a sob “Ry, I’m sorry I want you. It’s always been you. Would you please not give up on us? Come home.” “Goodbye, Jamie” I hang up the phone and sit in silence. All you can hear is my sobs and my heartbreaking all over again. I stay on the balcony for hours just sobbing; at least here at the top of a building, no one can hear how pathetic I am! *Rick’s POV* I should have gone to her and made sure she is ok. Instead, I let her cry in the elevator and then on the balcony, and I could hear her sob and cuss out some dude on the phone. Now I know the looks she gave me. She is scared of being hurt and betrayed. Adams words make sense now, and I know I can’t f**k this up. I send Adam A text “Ry is crying. She needs you guys to come back.” Adam reply’s Shit, we are on the other side of town. We will be hours yet, Rick. I know I said leave her be but go to her and make sure she is ok. I smile at his words and reply On my way.” I make sure I have her room key, and I leave my room. I don’t waste time. I go straight to her and let myself in the room. I don’t know how to explain this, but I’m sure Adam will cover for me. When I reach the balcony, my heart shatters Rylee is in a small ball crying. I slide open the door, and I go squat down and move her hair from her face and lean in and kiss her temple “Rylee, it’s ok, I’m here, she opens her eyes, and when she realises it’s me, she sits up and wipes her tears away. “Rick, what are you doing here?” I move to sit next to her and wrap my arms around her. She doesn’t fight me, so I take that as a good sign “ Ry, I should have been honest with you on the plane. I own the hotel you were staying in a while in Brisbane, and I wanted to know you, so I followed you here, and I had us moved on the plane so you could sleep my Name is Rick Doncaster, and I own this hotel and hotels all over the country.” Rylee takes my words in and then giggles, “So you are stalking me to get to know me?” I laugh and wrap my arm around her “you could say that Ry, but I heard your call, and I couldn’t stay away. I want to know who you are, and before you get any ideas, I don’t want to add you as a notch on my bedpost. I want to see where this Goes, Ry.” She looks at me, and I kiss her tears and wait for her to talk. She settles her head on my shoulder and places her hand in mine. I let her take the lead, and we sit in silence, looking out at the city below us. I feel her begin to shiver, and I go to move so I can get her inside. She grabs me and pulls me back. “Please stay, Rick”, I chuckle. “Ry, you are cold. Let’s go inside. We don’t have to talk, but I want to warm you up.” She giggles and begins to stand. I scoop her up and carry her to the couch and sit her down and cover her with a blanket. I go to the phone and order some hot chocolate and some other sweet treats, and then I go sit next to her “Ry, tell me what happened” “My ex-husband fell into my bosses v****a and stomped on my heart, and now he wants me back, but I can’t go back, Rick. That’s why I’m here to get space from him I don’t want a relationship. It’s too soon, but I need a friend.” I take in her words, and I pull her close to me and kiss her temple. “Ry, I will be here for you if you let me and no expectations, ok, just friends.” She nods and then curls up in my side. I don’t know this woman, but I do know in my soul that I want her, so I will do what it takes to get her to see that I am not her ex and that I won’t let her down, and that starts now! When our hot chocolate arrives, Rylee sits up and takes a drink, she lets out a small moan, and I chuckle, “I know, right, it’s so good!” Rylee nods at me, then leans forward and kisses me on the lips and whispers, “ Thank you, Rick” I set my chocolate to the side and grab her face. I kiss her back, and she responds I don’t deepen the kiss. It’s a kiss that says more than I could say with words, then I pull back and look into her eyes “it’s ok, Ry and I are not sorry about that iv been craving that kiss since I kissed you at the airport. I pull her on top of me, and she settles in between my legs and rests her head on my chest and whispers, “me too, Rick. I don’t know what it is, but I’m drawn to you as much as you are to me” I stay quiet, and that’s how we wait until the others get back now I have her in my arms; I don’t want to let her go and knowing she feels the same makes me smile now all I have to do is make her mine! *Rylee’s POV* Laying on Rick felt right; I feel safe around him, and that kiss, wow I know I said I was not ready, but why did kissing this man make everything seem right I remember what he said on the balcony that he wanted to see where this goes and smile “Rick?” “Mmmm Ry” “I want to see where this Goes.” Rick moves so he can see my face and grins “Are you sure, Ry?” “yes” He kisses my head and then holds me close “Thank you, Ry. We will go slow, ok, but you just made me a happy man.” I close my eyes and take in his scent, and something about him makes me feel at home!
