Chapter 9: Keep It In Your Pants Son!

Felix's Point of View... I stifled a laugh as I heard my Dad's explanation for our pack. It was creative but accurate. The Stone family had been part of the corporate elite for several generations. The companies we owned provided for and sustained the abundant life we enjoyed. Everyone in our pack was cared for and thrived because of my Dad's excellent leadership as Alpha. Even though I had officially taken over the role, Dad still worked directly with me to ensure I knew what I was doing to grow and flourish as Alpha. Jo's reaction was priceless. It made sense for her mind to go there, not knowing about werewolf culture, much less that she had a wolf of her own within. Conall had insisted that I wait and watch when Jo tried to circumvent the panic attack she was on the verge of. I admired the way that she handled the situation with grace and composure. Navigating a panic attack requires resilience, self-awareness, and coping skills, and witnessing Jo manage it well was impressive. This beautiful girl had a quiet strength within that I hadn't anticipated. She was remarkable. I was able to encourage Jo to share a bit more with me. She is so guarded, Felix. Remember to be gentle with her, and for God's sake, son, keep it in your pants! I can see how you are looking at her! My dad mind-linked me. Olivia already told me the same thing. I responded in kind to my father. I had a well-earned reputation that surpassed our pack lands, and my bed was always full. I hadn't waited for my mate, which was a good thing. I'd been waiting seven years to find her. Seven years to cultivate a reputation of being a master of seduction. Playful banter, double entendres, and subtle compliments were my forte. My words were carefully chosen to create an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation. I revealed just enough to keep others intrigued but maintained an element of enigma that added to my allure. Even girls I'd grown up with were enchanted with my seductive prowess. I'd never been turned down. Ever. Please, Felix. Jo is very innocent and naive. Not just in the ways of werewolf culture. This girl is NOT to be one of your conquests. My Dad insisted. Wow, my father had never cared about who I had s*x with before. I navigated romantic pursuits ethically, considering others' feelings and boundaries and ensuring that my actions were always within mutual comfort and consent. I was always honest with my partners about my intentions and that it was just s*x and nothing more. Unfortunately, much to my father's chagrin, I'd broken more than my fair share of hearts. He hadn't minded that I was promiscuous as long as I kept it wrapped up and didn't get anyone pregnant. Dad didn't like dealing with the aftermath of the disillusioned girls because, somehow, they thought our encounter was more than it had been. In truth, I longed for what my beta and best friend Jacob had with Clara. I yearned for someone to be my equal, who loved and supported me but pushed me to be the best version of myself. I momentarily imagined what it would be like to have Jo wrap her petite frame around me on the back of my motorcycle and how spending time playing video games with her would feel. Maybe the Moon Goddess would grant me that chance if Jo stayed with us while she recovered. I was intrigued by the beautiful girl with long chestnut brown hair and hazel eyes. I wanted to get to know Jo, not just f**k her. But, oh my goddess, I so wanted to f**k her. "Dad, can you tell me what time the appointment will be tomorrow at the clinic? I'll rearrange my schedule to go with you and Jo," I said as I entered the kitchen. Jo's eyes met mine, and she smiled shyly, blushing furiously. Wow, I wasn't even trying to charm her yet. "I'll call the clinic first thing in the morning but will leave a message for the doctor tonight. I'll bid you both a good evening. I have a few things to do before I retire. Sleep well, Jo," my Dad said before leaving the room. "You are fortunate, Felix. Your dad is a kind man," Jo said softly. "I've always admired and respected him for his strength and resilience in raising me alone. Dad had the support of our friends and family, but his ability to juggle his responsibilities, provide emotional support, and create a stable environment for me has always been inspiring. I'll forever be grateful for his sacrifices and Dad's effort to provide a nurturing and loving home," I smiled. "Felix, thank you. You could have left me there, but you brought me to your home and helped me. I wish I could find the words to tell you how much your kindness means to me," Jo said. "Does this mean you will agree to stay here while you recover?" I asked hopefully. "Your dad has convinced me that I am safe here. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around how I've never heard of you and your family before, but his explanation makes sense," Jo responded. "My family is also quite wealthy and very private with their affairs. I understand and respect the need to stay out of the public eye," Jo added. As tempted as I was to learn more about her, I would follow my Dad's direction. "Are you ready to see your room?" I asked Jo. Jo nodded and started to walk out of the kitchen. Now that she had rested, eaten, and had something to drink, Jo was more confident on her feet, but I wasn't going to relinquish the opportunity to hold her close to me again. I sped up and quickly scooped her up, holding her close to my body as she yelped. "I have strict orders from my Dad to carry you up the stairs and to make sure I'm available if you need anything," I grinned as Jo gave me a perplexed look. She sighed, bit her lip, and rested her head against my chest. I held Jo close and inhaled the delicious scent of bergamot and rosemary as I carried her to her room. I gently lowered her to the ground outside of the bedroom located next to mine and held her hand as I guided Jo into the guest room. Upon entering the generously sized guest room, Jo's eyes widened at the expansive king-size bed adorned with high-quality linens, plush pillows, and a luxurious duvet. The room was designed with a sophisticated color palette, combining neutral tones with tasteful accent colors to create an inviting and calming atmosphere. It was reserved for close family and friends visiting the pack. "There's a sitting room and an ensuite bathroom for you to use as well," I said as I continued to lead Jo throughout the room. She hadn't let go of my hand, and I couldn't ignore the sparks I felt holding it. A cozy sitting area in one corner of the room was arranged for relaxation and unwinding. It had a comfortable loveseat paired with a coffee table and a floor lamp for additional lighting. Soft, textured throws and decorative cushions add a layer of coziness to the seating ensemble, creating an ideal spot for reading, conversation, or simply enjoying a quiet moment. Those who stayed in this room especially loved this nook. Jo regarded me then with an expression of awe and quickly gave me an unexpected hug. I chuckled at her spontaneity and how much joy she demonstrated at having a spot to relax. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her head. She was too cute. "Sorry, I just love to read and have always wanted a spot like this to curl up with a book," Jo whispered as she peered under her long lashes. A subtle blush tinted her cheeks, reflecting the warmth and appreciation that emanated from her. Jo's hazel eyes sparkled with sincerity and gratitude. Her gaze was soft, almost hesitant, yet filled with a quiet intensity. I bit my lip as I met her gaze. The sincerity of her gratitude was palpable, creating an atmosphere of shared warmth and connection between us. Goddess, she was so easy to please. All I wanted to do was please her in every way I knew how. I took a ragged breath and dragged my eyes away from her. I gently retook her hand and led her to the ensuite bathroom. The bathroom featured a spacious shower with modern fixtures, a glass enclosure, and a freestanding clawfoot bathtub large enough for two people. It also included a toilet discreetly positioned for privacy. Plush towels and high-quality bath products were available for our guests, and it led me to wonder if Jo would want to enjoy a warm bath to help her settle for the evening. "Jo, did you want me to prepare you a bath while you look through the clothes that Olivia brought?" I offered. The look she gave me stirred something profound within me, and I knew if I didn't put some physical distance between the two of us, I would be unable to keep my resolve. "If it's not too much trouble, that would be great. Thank you, Felix," Jo mumbled, quickly leaving the room. Apparently, I was not the only one affected by our proximity; I smirked. I filled the tub with warm water and added Epsom salts and essential oils for a soothing and aromatic experience. I put out a white, fluffy towel for her and turned off the water once the tub was full. I walked out of the bathroom to find Jo looking through the clothes Olivia had left for you. I watched as she carefully selected something to wear that would be modest and comfortable after bathing. Jo carefully put the rest of the clothing on the dresser beside the bed, scooped up what she'd chosen, and turned to face me. I gave her my signature grin, and Jo flushed again. "Your bath is ready. I'll leave you to it and come back to check on you in a bit," I smiled as I struggled to keep myself under control. The thought of her naked in the room beside me was too much for me. I needed a cold shower again.
