Our family relieved us from obligations for one month for our honeymoon. Mattheus’s family booked us in one of the luxurious cruise ships that will sail throughout Europe for our honeymoon.
I don’t f*****g want to spend the next days with him in a cruise ship!
A lightbulb appeared at the top of my head, giving me an idea.
There’s only two minutes left for me to execute my plan or I’ll be stuck with Mattheus for the next days.
Slowly, I saw Mattheus, staring at me.
Truthfully, Mattheus is one handsome man. He’s sinfully beautiful, and sometimes I think it’s unfair. Why would you give someone like him a goddamn good-looking face and a body that could make any woman salivate?
I smiled at him sweetly and gave him a flying kiss. “Enjoy your solo trip, asshole.” I flipped him off bago ako umalis doon.
I booked myself a flight going back to the Philippines. Anong inaasahan nilang gagawin namin ni Mattheus? f**k, I don’t even want the image of that.
Note to self: I will never let him touch me.
If I went to our mansion, makikita ko lamang ang dalawa kong kapatid.
My brothers are too smart for their own good. Silver and Yvo are around 24 and 22, respectively, pero kung mag-isip sila, lalo na si Silver, mas mature pa sa akin. If you’re not going to ask for our age, iisipin ninyong ako pa ang bunso.
Bukas, I have work to do. I can’t even stand him for one day, lalo na kung isang buwan.
That’s probably okay, kaya ko siyang iwasan. I can pretend he doesn’t exist once he comes home.
Still, they know better not to run their mouths or they’ll lose their jobs.
“So, the news was right. You’re here, Ate Max. Why are you here instead of spending lovely days with your husband? Aren’t you supposed to be on your honeymoon?”
I glared at him. He looks bewildered and confused, and he’s looking at me like I am some problem he needs to solve.
“I let my husband to enjoy the honeymoon alone.” He can f**k the pillow. Hindi ako magpapahawak sa kagaya ni Mattheus.
Tumayo nang maayos si Silver and he stride towards me. The coldness that surrounds him is a replica of my father’s aura.
“I don’t understand you. What’s your reason for marrying him if the moment we put you in one room, you have this expression like you wanted to unalive him? Enlighten me.”
“I told you, it’s to help the family. That’s why I told Dad to revised the agreements within the organization. Betrayal should be punishable by death. Not just because of one goal. Especially for the De Crescenzo, they are cunning as fox, Silver. You know that—”
“And you sacrifice yourself just to hold Mattheus on a leash? I thought you weren't someone who would do something like this—your words by the way, not mine,” pagputol ni Silver sa sinasabi ko.
“I have my plans. Don’t meddle.”
I am out to destroy Mattheus’s life because he tried to destroy mine. Also, for justice for dear Dylan. I pity him.
“Careful, sis. You know how dirty our world is. De Crescenzo family is no different than ours. If you bite them, they will bite you back. We will not let anything bad happen to you, that’s for sure. But I want you to be careful, especially if you live in the same house as him. I don’t want news of your death on my table.”
Humalakhak ako sa sinabi ni Silver and this time I smiled at him, sardonically.
“Aww, so sweet, my little brother. But if ever you’re going to receive news about death, it’s not my death. It’s him. I’ll be fine.”
Kailangan ko lang matapos ang paghuhukay ko sa mga ebidensya laban kay Mattheus, and while I am at it, why not try to dig deeper about his family’s dirt?
For years, there’s a silent competition between my family and the De Crescenzo.
Kagaya na lang ngayon, De Crescenzo family tried to back up someone that’s a threat to our family at wala pa kaming magawa laban sa kanila dahil it’s their freedom. But I believe, to have a better organization and harmonized Cosa Nostra that benefit us all, dapat hindi ganoon. Dad is trying to push an agreement about that since he’s the current head of it.
I was expecting one of my brothers, but it was Cosimo, my guard.
“More information about Elena Marozzo, Mr. De Crescenzo’s rumored ex-girlfriend.”
I don’t want to marry him with someone who was still clinging to him, but he answered me none…so I assumed they really broke up or maybe they don’t have that kind of relationship.
Well, by the looks of Mattheus, halata naman sa kanya that he’s someone who wouldn’t settle for a serious relationship.
Elena Marozzo. Occupation: Model. Nationality: Italian-Filipino.
She’s half Italian and Filipino. She grew up in the Philippines at mukhang nagkakilala sila ni Mattheus when they are both in college since pareho sila ng school na pinasukan. She went to France for her dreams and is now one of the highest-paid models in our generation.
Interesting.
We acquire this business not so long ago, out of spite from the former owner. I stepped up and told my dad I’ll handle it. Maganda rin naman ang pasok ng pera sa fashion industry and it’s a good front to hide our dirty and illegal businesses.
But Elena…I never heard of her, or maybe I don’t really care. Wala akong pakealam sa ibang models if they are not our talents.
I flipped the pages at pinagmasdan pa ang mga impormasyon kay Elena. I almost choked on my saliva when I saw a picture of Elena and Mattheus together. Cosimo is doing a great job digging for info about them. If only he can dig on the man himself—Mattheus, hindi na ako papasok sa sitwasyong ito.
She’s really pretty. I don’t know why she hung out with someone like Mattheus. I think she deserves much more.
Now, what? I thought marrying the asshole would give me satisfaction because I would enter his life and see a part of him that the world wasn’t able to see, and I will expose him. But I haven’t felt any gratification from this. f**k!
I was too enthusiastic when I heard Tati’s suggestion and I thought this will be easy.
Anyway, there’s still time na makapag-isip kung anong gagawin ko. Mattheus wouldn’t be home for a month. I can still taste my freedom before he comes back.
It’s been a week simula nang hayaan kong maglayag si Mattheus na mag-isa. Aside from the reason that it’s an eyesore for me, it’s getting in my way. I heard the De Crescenzo spent millions of dollars just for my wedding ring.
Am I having a f*****g sleep paralysis now?
I tried to open my eyes, and I successfully did it.
“Hi, wife. Miss me?”
Napabalikwas ako sa pagkakahiga ko. I looked at him, wide eyes and incredulous.
“M-Mattheus?”
Akala ko ay nananginip lamang ako na nakikita ko siya but when he gave me his infamous smirk, I know I wasn’t dreaming.
“If you thought you could get rid of me that easily, I want you to think again.”
The moment he stood up, my heart dropped. I know danger when I encounter one, and this is one of them. Mattheus is the danger himself.
