Not everyone in this world wish for money, fame or high social status. There are some people who genuinely want nothing but respect, happiness and satisfaction. I was one of them until my father walked out on me and walked out on his rites received from his father, to become the ambitious man whom today world know as Billionaire of semi decade.
I live with my Grandfather who used to be a Shihan (senior or expert teacher) in karate. So obviously I grew up practicing karate all my childhood, and became Sensei (Instructor) in one of the local branch of karate club. My grandfather also used to run a karate club but he is now getting much older to keep it running consistently. So, he expect me to become Shihan one day in Japan Karate Association, to keep this traditional art in living form by passing it to me or may I say progeny here? or his descendant? This is one of the reason my father left, and nowadays I am getting feeling that I am just like my dad.
Yes, I am just like my dad. Ambitious. and what is wrong with being ambitious? Everyone has dreams which are waiting to be fulfilled.
Akiko! Akiko!? Akiko....!!!
'What the heck happened, did sky drooped or earth cracked?' I scowled on face of my senior. and actually I am going to get doomed now. I crossed the limit, I know. I accept my wrong doings and keep my mouth shut, otherwise, otherwise is otherwise.
'No worries, neither sky drooped nor earth cracked. But, but earth beneath your legs is no longer your place of work. After so many times I told you not to sleep in working hours and leave that, you let students on their own to practice. How many complaints I got from parents because of you. Before you destroy what I made, I want you to leave here. Don't ever come here.' And that is what I expected to here from him.
I came back home with a sullen face. Grandfather was sitting in the courtyard under the blackish blue sky looking at stars. I greeted him and he looked at me with weak eyes, and looking at his eyes I knew that he knew what happened today. why not! the person I was working for was my grandfather's former student.
He didn't said anything and moved into kitchen to set plates for food. we ate in silent. I was able to hear night bugs making sound which obviously I hear everyday, but today there sound was more prominent to hear. after felt like eternity grandfather said goodnight to me and I also bowed in front of him saying goodnight. And don't think wrong about me, I know how to cook. But its kind of my grandpa's habit to cook dinner when his mood is off. which was actually quiet evident today.
Hashhh.... what a harsh day was today! I think I need to look for some kind of part time job after college tomorrow. As I was thinking about places where could I get job I slipped into a numb sleep.
Expectations. It is a word sometimes define someone's patience to accept it and work through a way to fulfill those expectations which were expected from you. And for someone it becomes a curse that never leave him or her until that person get ran out of facilities he used to have to govern himself for a great future he dreamt of, as that expectation is something he or she doesn't want that is decided by his or her parents or guardians.
Why do I feel such a pressure when I am actually one of them. It was like already decided that I have to take after my grandfather as his father and grandmother were all in this line of Karate. I don't want to be negative here, but grandfather said that his grandmother was gifted, she has very smooth moves and pretty good stances. And when it comes to fight, every time she had a winning hand. But I don't care about it. I know, I am sounding rude, and also its not my problem. Its how I personify myself, a selfish, rude, silly but ambitious girl who will one day prove everyone that she is different, in a good way off course. And will bring this word EXPECTATION to its extinction.
'Oh, so this is what you expect from yourself'.
'Wait, I don't expect, I wish'. I said. Wait, who was it?
