Pounding

I know that Hans likes me, but it's all the more depressing now that he doesn't know what I am. It would be unfair to Hans. The next day with a pounding and a feeling of uncertainty, I returned to work at the hospital. But until lunchtime, I didn't see Hans. Maybe it's a day off, or he's on some other errand. At five o'clock in the afternoon, I came home, and there was no Hans with his nosy smile every day. Arriving at the parking lot, I saw several nurses and staff standing not far from my car which is parking under a big tree. Smiling, I headed to where my car was parking side by side with doctor Rini's car, a dermatologist who has worked at this hospital for six years, a year ahead of I and Hans. "I just came back from Doctor Hans' house because this morning he called to help him who was sick," his sudden explanation made me gawk and my mumbling succeeded in making him smile sarcastically "Hans is sick?". "Yes, a high fever because one of the crazy patients yesterday hit an iron pole into his hand while he was doing his examination yesterday. I'm sure you don't know. So we can confirm who here is close to Hans", he said sarcastically as he walked into the crowd of nurses I met. skip it. His voice prompting them to leave can still be heard as I get in the driver's seat of my car. The fact that Doctor Rini said earlier hit me hard. Just yesterday Hans kissed me, not a kiss to be precise just a light peck on the cheek, just a glance. Maybe I'm overthinking it too much. But I have to prove something before things will go wrong. For a moment I returned to the hospital after Doctor Rini's car passed. My goal is the administration room. Among the piled-up documents, I started looking for the doctor's profile, and finally, I got it, Doctor Hans' home address. It turned out that Doctor Hans lived in a private house. In this case, we are the same, neither of us occupying the special doctor's office provided by the hospital where we work. When my car was driving, Ida called and told me that Pras didn't want to take a shower in the afternoon and was waiting for me to come home. In the end, I decided to go home first. His voice prompting them to leave can still be heard as I get in the driver's seat of my car. The fact that Doctor Rini said after washing Pras and reading him his favorite storybook, Penguin, I headed to Hans' home address when it was already 8:30 pm. Maybe it's rude but I have to do it. When I entered the yard where there were many trees and flowers, I saw two cars parked close to the silver Pajero Sport which I recognized as Hans' car. But the other one I've never seen. When I was standing in front of the door and at first thought, it could be Doctor Rini's car and I better not continue this and just go back. As I turned around, the door opened and my heart immediately beat fast when I heard the sound of laughter, one of which was a familiar laugh that I often heard, Hans laugh. Late! My feet froze and as soon as our eyes met, I saw a look of surprise in Hans's gaze. I don't ask again, my heart is like an earthquake with vibrations exceeding 7 on the Richter Scale. And I didn't dare to look at her friend because I was worried that what I would see later was Doctor Rini's cynical smile like before. "No wonder I was expelled, apparently someone is waiting for me", joked the male voice beside Hans. I became increasingly clumsy and let out a squeaking sound "Eh..", "That's why you don't take too long, it's already there, huss..." Hans replied, looking at me smiling. "Yes...yes...I'll take it out", said the man while holding out his hand to me "Zaki," he said, and "Dita," I said as I welcomed his outstretched hand. "I'm back bro," Zaki said with a wink when he let go of our handshake. "It's been a while, you've gone home, then Indri will be angry," said Hans with a flat face. "Easy man", Zaki insisted as he walked away and waved. The suffocating silence made me nervous as Hans continued to stare at me without speaking. "I...I...think, I'll go home too" I stuttered trying to relieve this tightness. "No, you've come this far and I as the host would be very rude without allowing you to come in and just drink tea right?", said Hans calmly as he opened the door wide as a sign for me to enter. There's no going back and I have to finish this. "Sorry, I don't have tea, I only have coffee, but if you want a soft drink, I have plenty," said Hans when he returned with a bottle of soft drink. "How are your hands?", I asked looking at him without answering about drinks because I also don't like drinking soft drinks like that since I was pregnant and gave birth. "Hands, uh...this is good" while showing his hand in the air. I looked at Hans' hands and his nervous eyes, why is this a doctor, I thought strangely, earlier hit me hard.
