Camilla
I took the day off after Cain talked my ear off about needing my full rest so that my face won't look puffy before makeup. Honestly I think he's more excited about the engagement party than I am, especially after I pleaded with Damon for him to come along with us.
It's very funny the Cain used his three months savings to get himself a suit. According to him, it's only when he's nicely dressed will he be able to get laid after the party.
Chuckling at the memory, I sank deeper into bathing tub, my nerves relaxing due to the warm water. Take it from me, it's nice to take a time off from work, at least once in a while just to relax. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and relaxed to savor the moment.
My ringtone woke me up from my slumber. When did I even fall asleep? I've been sleeping for sometime now because my warm bath is now cold. I got out of the tub, grabbed a towel and wrapped it round my body before picking up by phone from the sink.
The call ended before I was able to pick. Shrugging, I decided to call the person back once I'm dressed, but the phone started ringing. When I saw the caller's name,I understood why the caller is inpatient. Smiling, I picked the call.
"Cariño? Are you okay? Is everything okay?" He asked me, his voice filled with worry.
Confused as to why he is asking me such question, I checked the caller again to confirm that he's really the one. That's undoubtedly his voice, and he called me cariño... So he's definitely the one. "I'm fine Damon. Why do you ask?"
"The makeup artist I sent over said she has been knocking for sometime now without any response, I called your phone but you weren't picking up and when I called Cain to check if you checked in today, he told me that you took the day off."
Shit! He has every damn reason to be upset. I'm not usually a deep sleeper, but I don't know what happened today. "sorry about that. In as much as I hate to say this, but I fell asleep in the bathing tub."
"I don't think it's advisable to fall asleep in a tub filled with water"
"In case I drown?" I asked him, my voice showing just how ridiculous I find that assumption. "I'm not as little girl entering the pool for the first time." I know he's going to argue with me if I don't change the topic "is the makeup artist still here?"
A knock sounded at the door before he could answer the question "don't bother answering that, I already have the answer to my question." I quickly wore a big polo before running to open the door.
A young lady standing with a box gave me a tight-lipped smile "you must be Camilla?" Although she's trying hard to hide her anger, I can still tell that beneath the smiling face is an angry woman. I don't really blame her for being angry, if I was in her shoes, I'm sure I'll react very badly.
"Yes, that's me." I opened the door wider "please do come in." I closed the door softly behind her. "I'm so sorry that I left you standing outside, I was kind of sleeping, and I didn't hear you knock."
"That's okay, if you don't mind, can we start with the makeup?" I know it's not okay, but there's nothing I can do except from apologising which I've already did.
"I'm actually on a call with someone, just give me few minutes to round it up." I turned around to leave but remembered my manners "I'm sorry for not asking ealier. Can I get you anything?"
"I'm fine," she replied in a clipped voice "I just want to get started with the makeup, so I can finish before the estimated time Mr Salvador gave me. I don't want anyone blaming me for something that isn't my fault."
Right! I got the message loud and clear. I gave her a small nod before returning to my room. I placed the phone back to my ear, surprised that Damon didn't disconnect the call. "Hey? I didn't know you were still on the line"
"Is she being rude with you?" He asked in an authoritative voice.
"Who? The makeup lady?" I didn't even get her name "no, she wasn't being rude at all. If I was in her shoes, I would have reacted worst than she did"
"Which means she did react," he pointed out "I paid her enough, so if you damn wish to spend the whole day with her, she shouldn't say a damn word." I love it when he talks like this, it makes me feel as if I'm the only thing that matters to him. "put her on the phone!"
Wait! What? "I should do what? Why should I do that? What do you plan on telling her?"
"Just put her on the phone, or should I call her directly?"
"I'm not giving her my phone!" I snapped at him "and you are not going to call her either. She didn't do anything wrong for heaven's sake. She's human, and as much, she's entitled to show her emotions"
"Not when I'm paying her" he deadpanned "put her on the damn phone cariño"
"I told you I'll do no such thing. I need to go Damon. Arguing with you over the phone is only going to delay my makeup. I'm sure you wouldn't want me to keep you waiting when you get here."
He chuckled under his breath which quipped my curiosity "what's funny? I don't remember cracking any joke"
"You are the only one who defiles me and I end up finding it sexy."
My lips lifted in a smile "welcome to my world, Damon Salvador"
"I'm so f*****g glad that I am in it." Someone said something to him in the background, which stole his attention for few seconds "I have to go cariño, I'll come pick you up by seven o'clock at the dot"
"I'll be waiting" I replied in a hushed voice
"te adoro, cariño. I'll see you later."
I walked out of the room smiling like a love struck i***t with the phone still placed on my ears "are you ever going to tell me what those words mean?"
"In due time" was his only response before he disconnected the call. I made a mental note to take Spanish class online. I'm going to surprise him one day with a Spanish phrase.
Three hours later, she finally rounded up the makeup on my face. She was still styling my hair when my front door bursted open. Only one person can barge into my house like that without knocking.
"I feel like f*****g Bill Gates right now. I can't believe that I look this handsome"
I chuckled at his ecstatic behavior, even the lady dressing my hair chuckled. I took in his new shoes, suit and_ "did you get a new hair cut?" He sure does look handsome with this new hair cut.
"You like it yah?" He asked, grinning from ear to ear. He licked his lips and struck pose, waiting for me to compliment him.
"You look handsome. Don't return to your old haircut again. You look more..." I thought of the right word "you look perfect with the hair."
He blew me a kiss before occupying the empty sofa "you look breath taking by the way. The smokey makeup made your eyes pop out the more. I'm sure that Spanish dude will practically drool all over his Italian suit when he sees you."
"You mean Mr Salvador?" The lady asked, butting into our conversation. "Not that I'm trying to make you feel any less, but Mr Salvador have been with better women, so trust me, you'll look like every normal lady to him."
Cain scowled at her "if I remember vividly, nobody asked for your input. So you better focus on that hair before I destroy yours." Still glaring at her, he relaxed better on the sofa "when is your Spanish getting here?"
I checked the time on the wall clock "he said he's going to be here by seven o'clock on the dot." Which means he'll be here in the next thirty minutes.
"I'm done" the lady announced "do you need help getting into your cloth?"
"I'm sure she's going to need help with the zipper" Cain answered in my stead "and I'm sure she's going to need help with the jewelries too."
She eyed him wearily before following me inside to my room. She helped me with the zipper but was still fastening the jewelries when the door bell rang. I heard Damon's voice from the bedroom, thanks to how small the apartment is.
Cain appeared at the doorway, he folded his hands "Spanish guy is here, so you better hurry up"
"His name is Damon," I corrected "I don't think he'll appreciate you calling him Spanish guy." I checked myself for the last time in the mirror to make sure that everything is indeed perfect.
"You are on the first name basis with Mr Salvador?" She asked in astonishment "I can't believe he permitted you to call him his first name."
I frowned at her. Why the f**k is this girl bent on ruining my happiness this night? I turned around to face her properly "what is your problem? Is there something you want to say to me?"
Apathetic to the fact that I'm already getting annoyed, she crossed her hands and jutted her hips out "don't antagonize me just because I pointed out a fact. Mr Salvador never permitted any of his past women call him by his name."
Right! I'm dealing with a jealous ex lover. I'm sure he has f****d her before. I blinked rapidly to conceal the pain "like Cain said before, your input isn't valued, neither did we ask for it. Next time, that's if there will be a next time, keep your thoughts and opinions to yourself." I gathered the tail off my gown "if you'll excuse me, Damon is waiting for me" with firm and precise steps, I walked out of my bedroom.
The moment Damon saw me, he smiled brightly, his eyes trailed my body, starting from my shoes to the slit on my gown to my chest, then his gaze landed on my face. The moment his eyes met mine, his demeanor changed to a serious one "what's wrong cariño? Did anything happen? Did anyone upset you?"
"Maybe you should ask this blond b***h behind me" Cain muttered behind me, but I'm very sure Damon heard him.
Damon frowned, his face flushing in anger. "what the f**k did you say to her Genevieve?!" He hissed at her, the vein in his neck throbbing.
Great! She has a name
Her eyes widened "I didn't know what I said was going to upset her, I only pointed out few facts to her. I'm sorry sir" she stared at her feet, her eyes refusing to meet that of Damon out of fear.
"Just get the f**k out of here! I'll deal with you later!"
She practically ran out of the house, her makeup box firmly in her grasp. Cain picked up his cell phone and wallet "can we leave already? I don't want to miss the dance."
Damon ignored him, he placed his hand on my waist and pulled me closer "hey! I'm sorry about that b***h. I don't know what she told you, but I want you to know that she's full of bullshit."
Cain checked the time again which made him frown "I'll wait in the car." He pointed accusing dinner at me "just know that you aren't getting laid if I don't get laid too."
Not in the mood for his jokes, I made no indication that I heard him. When he didn't get any response from me, he muttered something under his breath and walked away.
"Did you f**k her?" I asked the question that has been nudging me.
He double blinked, obviously confused at my choice of question "what?"
"You heard me. Have you f****d her before?" I asked again through clenched teeth
"Can we not talk about that right now? Let's do this when we get back" his eyes pleaded with me to drop it but I couldn't, not when I got my answer in his words
"You brought one of your exes to make me up and fix my hair? Are you f*****g kidding me?!"
"She's not my ex" he hissed, but then when he realized he is taking a sharp tone with me, he took a deep breath before speaking again "I never dated her,"
I stared at him for few seconds "you know what? You are right, let's do this when we get back. I don't want to be the reason why we got to the venue late." I left him standing there and walked towards the car.
