Xenon POV Being an Alpha of a pack, a mafia Don and at the same time a CEO can be very hectic and stressful to a lot of people but not to me. I love every bit of it. I am able to do all my duties smoothly. In the eyes of the humans, I am just a successful business man and also one of the kings of the underworld. while to the werewolves, a powerful Alpha. They refer to me as the ‘devil Alpha’ because I am ruthless in my dealings. The only people who see my soft side are my family and close friends. A knock at the door brought me out of my thoughts. “Come in!”. I responded to the knock. The door opened and in came Levi my beta and also my right hand man in my mafia dealings. He looks weary. As if he has bad news to share with me. “What is it Levi?”. I asked him. “I was sent by some of the pack members.” Levi uttered. “Concerning?” I asked. Although I might have an idea who sent him. “Alpha, the pack members are worried about you being mateless!.” Levi, my beta and right hand man, uttered. “By pack members did you mean the elders?.” I asked him. Levi nodded his head. I knew it! Damn those elders! They have been in my head ever since I became the alpha. I wish they could all die so that I can have peace. “How am I being mateless in their business?.” I snapped at him. “Well, technically that’s part of their jobs as elders of the pack.” Levi pointed out. “I don’t care! I give advice that they should start minding their business or I teach them how too.” I threatened. I hate it when irrelevant people poke their noses in my business. “But Alpha, don’t you think it is time you forget about…” Levi started to say before I cut him off. “Don’t you dare!” I snap at him in an angry voice. “Sorry Alpha.” Levi apologized. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I try to shut out the flashes of images in my mind. Four years ago, my destined Mate was killed by a rival gang of mine. It was all my fault. If I hadn't let down my guard then, maybe she wouldn’t have been killed. “Alpha. Whatever happened that day, wasn’t your fault.” Levi emphasized. He must have known what I was thinking. “Was the mole discovered?.” I asked him to change the topic. I need something to distract me from my thoughts. “Yes. It was Marcus. He sold the information to the Black Axe.” Levi explained although he kept looking at with concerned “Marcus? I didn’t expect that!.” I said. I had accepted the mole to be one of the humans working for us because we werewolves know how much loyalty is valuable to us. “I didn’t expect that either. But then there are proofs. We have a video coverage showing Marcus meeting up with the Dons of the Black Axe and also the account details of him receiving a huge amount of money from an anonymous account which we trace back to the Black Axe.” Levi explained. “Where is he now?”. I asked Levi. “In the torture room.” Levi explained. “Good. Let’s go pay him a visit.” I said to Levi. I dropped my pen on the desk and got up. And together with Levi, we made our way to the basement were the torture chamber is. Levi and I when to the torture chamber were Marcus was bounded to a chair and a cloth was tied over his eyes. I signal to one of my men standing and he removed the cloth from Marcus' eyes. Immediately the cloth was removed, Marcus began to tremble when he saw me. I smile in satisfaction as I move closer to him. The closer I get to him, the more terrified he becomes. Good! He should be scared because today he is going to find out why I am called the Devil Alpha. “A — Alp … ha….” Marcus stuttered as he cried out as soon as I stood in front of him. I threw a punch at him, breaking his jaw. “Why?”. I asked him in a calm voice. “I didn’t mean to. They threatened to harm my family. Please forgive me!.” Marcus cried out. Immediately he stopped talking, I gave him another opportunity. “I hate being lied to! If they actually threatened your non-existent family, why didn’t you come to me?.” I questioned him. “Please forgive me. I didn’t mean to betray you.”. Marcus begged. I signal to one of the men to bring me the two piece fork from the furnace. With no mercy I use the fork to pierce Marcus stomach. Marcus let out a scream of anguish. “You know how much I hate to be betrayed and you still went ahead and sold me out.” I screamed at him and removed the fork before I pierced it back into his stomach. “Alpha, please forgive me!.” Marcus pleaded with me as he cried out in anguish. “You would have thought of the consequences before you decided to betray the oath. I didn’t expect this from you. You are part of my Pack. My blood. I didn’t expect you to rant us to some worthless humans. And for this reason, you will pay with your life.” I declared. Immediately those words left my mouth, one of my men standing behind him cut off his head with a silver knife. “Make sure you show his body to the rest of the men as an example before you dispose of him.” I ordered before I left the torture chamber along with Levi. We headed back upstairs where I unfortunately collided with my grandfather. He is one of the elders I have been trying to dodge for a while now. “Xenon!”. My grandfather breathed in relief. “Good evening grandfather. What brings you here?.” I asked him even though deep down within me I know why he is here. “Why? Can’t I visit my own grandson?”. He asked me. “Nope! You are always welcome.” I gave him a genuine smile. “Well I don’t feel welcome. Why are you all bloody?”. He questioned me pointing to the blood stain on my shirt. “Business!”. I answered. “Why are you here this evening? Is everything alright?.” I quickly asked him to divert the topic. My grandfather sighted; “I know you must have an idea why I am here. The elders are worried about your status.” He uttered. “Well fu*ck them!”. I cussed. Those elders are really getting on my nerves. I will soon be forced to banish all of them. “Sadly you can’t and you don’t seem to understand your situation. If you are not yet mated by age thirty, you will be dethroned. That’s in the law of the land and your thirty birthday comes up in three months.” My grandfather expressed. “I have heard grandfather. I will do something about it!”. I surrendered because arguing with him is pointless. “Alright! I just hope by the next time I am here, you have already come up with a possible solution.” My grandfather uttered. I hope so too. I thought to myself. I escorted my grandfather outside the house before I headed to my room to freshen up. I took a shower and changed my outfit. My good friend and ally Xander just came back from his honeymoon this week. Our group of friends decided that we should share a drink at your regular club. When I arrived at the club, some of our friends were already sitting in our private booth including Xander and his wife Ashely. “Dude I thought you planned to ditch us!”. Xander uttered as we shared a bro handshake with him. “And miss seeing you p***y whipped? Never!.” I declared as I took my seat. “One day it will be your turn. And I will be the one laughing then.” Xander declared. “In your dreams!.” I mocked him before I took a sip of the drink in front of me.. Xander is a human and doesn’t know about me being a werewolf and so I can’t tell him that my only chance of love is dead already. Thinking about Crystal just made me want to drink myself to death. After an hour, Xander excused himself and left. His wife Ashely is pregnant and they couldn’t stay out here for long. The rest kept on drinking as they had strippers inside the booth dancing for them. I wasn’t interested in what was going on. Moreover, I had developed a slight headache. I excused myself and decided to head to the penthouse to take a rest. Just as I opened the door, a soft body collided with me. I immediately put my hands around the lady to prevent her from falling. “Hey Miss are you okay?.” I asked her in a concerned voice. Her eyes were closed and I could hear her heartbeat. It was beating irregularly. “H-Help me!. She mumbled before she went limp in my hands. I held her tighter to prevent her from falling.
