Clara
Ever since I saw myself in that mirror, I couldn't help but feel more pain and anger towards everyone including myself. I am angry at my father for marrying Katherine and bringing Juliana into our lives. I am angry at Katherine, Juliana and Jake for betraying me and am angry at myself for trusting them. If only I had listened to my instincts that night then maybe all these wouldn't have happened. I failed my baby even before it could see the light of the day.
Looking around, I found Lucas sitting at the far end side of the room. I demanded to be left alone during my anger tantrum but he refused to leave the room rather he gave me enough space. "When is your dad showing up?"
He stared at his wrist watch "probably in few hours, what?"
I shrugged "told you I wanted to speak with him but on a second thought you can keep me company till he gets here. I don't bite you know, regarding the distance you placed between us".
He gave me a wolfish grin "are you sure about that, I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of your tantrums. I havent been afraid of anything in my life but your anger really got me scared, I almost peed my pants".
"Are you trying to be funny Lucas?"
He stood up from his seat and approached me "I just want to make you smile, take your mind off these things that are eating you up. How do you feel? You know you can talk to me too?"
As if on cue, his father opened the door and entered the room. Lucas stared at his wrist watch "you are not supposed to be here till the next few hours".
"The meeting didn't take much time as I thought it will, those staffs of yours really have me wondering if am wasting my money on them. They couldn't even give a proper and meaningful presentation. So I had to dismiss them to go prepare something presentable".
Lucas nodded in understanding "well that's good because her Majesty keeps demanding for your presence ever since she woke up".
His father sat down at the other end of the bed "is everything okay?"
Suddenly releasing how rude I sounded earlier while demanding for him, I decided to apologize. "Am sorry Mr. Davidson, I did not mean to drag you out from your duties at the office"
He gave me a warm smile "nonsense, you didn't drag me away from my duties and please call me Peter. So I heard you've been asking for me?"
Taking a deep breath, I decided to tell him everything that happened "I remember everything Mr. Davidson". I told him everything, starting from the day my father met Katherine to the day they left me in that ship to die.
When I finished narrating my life story, Mr. Davidson's face was filled with pure rage "how can someone do this to his fellow human being not to talk more of her own daughter".
Lucas was quite the whole time so if he was accessing the situation. "So you mean Juliana and Katharine Grey are capable of such evil?"
I shrugged "I guess that is what I get for trusting my own family".
Mr. Davidson after a moment of silence spoke up "we will help you make them pay. They will regret their actions but it will be too late to rectify it. I'll help you get back what they stole from you, they must face the law".
I tilted my head "how are you going to do that?
"I will give you a new identity, with your new face comes a new you. You will become my daughter whom I hid from the public's eyes because you were born by my mistress".
I never knew revenge could be so refreshing to the ears "how do we get to the Grey's?"
"Their company is currently in need of money so am patterning with them to close a particular deal which will save them from going bankrupt".
"My father didn't wrong me in any way; I don't want to close his company".
He shook his head "we are not closing the company. After your supposed death, your father became a shell of himself. So everything concerning that company is controlled by Juliana. So we are hoping to get that company back from her, and we will send those murderers to jail".
I held his hand "thank you so much Mr. Davidson"
He smiled at me "you better get used to calling me Dad".
Lucas who has been quite the whole time gave me a hug "I'm with you throughout all these. Those bastards need to pay".
Mr. Davidson stood up and walked towards the window. Overlooking the city, he spoke in a low tone "I'll send you out of the country to groom you; we will make you get used to the things that Clara couldn't or refused to do and when you get back, you will be known as Delilah Davidson".
Delilah Davidson? I like this name more and I very much know that I will like to be her than being Clara. Clara Grey failed to protect the things she loved, she failed her father by handling the company over to people who knew absolutely nothing about managing a company but Delilah Davidson will be back to set right those things that Clara couldn't, she will take revenge for the baby that Clara Grey lost and she will definitely make those who have a hand in the murder Miss Clara Grey pay for their evil deeds. She looked at Mr. Davidson gathering all the strength she could from him "I am ready to make them pay, they will beg for death but I will never grant them that".
Peter very proud of the decision she took, promised to be with her all the way "I'll go make preparation for the existence of Delilah Davidson. I'll get you registered under the system and I'll get your papers ready".
"Thank you so much Mr. Davidson, I really appreciate".
He patted my shoulders "call me Dad"
With a smile that reached my ears, I embraced my new family "Dad".
