YOLANDA
The craziest thing happened last night, and I just want to laugh so much at myself. Who the hell trips and falls into the arms of a man and falls asleep?
Well, that was me last night. I heard Kyle calling me from afar, but I was still in his warm arms and as I opened my eyes, asking him what happened, he laughed so much at me. He did not trust me to walk on my own so he carried me bridal style upstairs to the room my dad said I should use to sleep and tucked me into bed. For the first time in a long time, I had a very good sleep, and Kyle was very much part of the reason.
It is past six in the morning, and regardless of what time I went to bed to sleep, I still managed to get up so early and take a shower with the toiletries I found in the bathroom. All my clothes are still in the car, so I wrap a towel around my body, and I found dad’s slippers in the room, so I put them on.
I make my way downstairs and I don’t see Kyle. He must have left. As I make my way to the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee, I hear someone softly snoring, so I change my direction to the lounge where I find my dad sleeping on the couch, shirtless, and with a mini blanket covering his lower body.
His body is so enticing I could just lay on it. How does he keep his body so fit even in his thirties? You would swear that he is younger than his age. My mom really had found herself a gem, here. Even Sindi, my friend is charmed by him.
What about you, Yolanda?
Wait, who asked that? Was that the voice in my head talking to me? Oh, yes, of course, it is. Is it not weird that I am checking at my stepfather the way I am? Goodness, what has gone into me lately? I guess I have to blame it on Sindi because ever since she brought up his looks to my attention, I like watching my stepdad’s body. So robust, black, and insnaring. I find myself pulling my lower lip between my teeth and clenching my thighs together.
God, this is wrong. What am I doing? This is man is my father, and I am not supposed to look at him this way and do the things that I am doing right now. What if he wakes up and realise that I have been standing here for almost five minutes, sexualising him with my eyes? What has gone into me?
You should be ashamed of yourself, Yolanda!
With the voice in my head scolding me, I rush to the kitchen, but I want to scold myself for accidentally making noise with the big shoes on my feet because they just woke up the beast.
“Yolanda?” He calls out, and I freeze like a thief who was caught stealing in the dark. Could he have felt me standing because dang, he is a light sleeper?
I slowly turn with a tail between my legs and do not dare raise my gaze at him.
“What is the time?” He asks, yet looking at his phone on the coffee table, but I still answer him anyway.
“It is after six. I was going to make coffee; would you like some?” I offer, still not lifting my eyes at him. It is very hot between my legs and getting damper every second. His voice is not even helping because it is so reverberating and stern, yet provocative.
How did I get here? Am I catching feelings for my own dad? This is so unlike me, and I don’t approve of it. It is wrong on so many levels.
I put my hands in my head, hyperventilating, and let my tears roll out of my eyes.
“Yolanda… baby girl, look at me,” I hear my dad talk, but his voice is just sounding from afar. I raise my head and the room is just spinning around. I see him rushing towards me and his hands touch me before they hoist me up in his arms.
“You are having an anxiety attack, sweetheart, breathe,” He places me on the couch and puts his hands on my chest, performing CPR on me to help me breathe and come back to the world.
He is on top of me, and I am between his legs. He thinks he is getting me better, but he doesn’t know that he is the problem – making the situation worse than it I by being on top of me in only his black Versace briefs.
“There you go, honey… you are doing a good job,” He says. “How many fingers am I holding up?” He lifts his hand up to my face.
“Three… one… two… five,” I answer as he kept changing his fingers.
“Good, you are good. What happened?” He asks, towering over me with his body.
How do I even answer his question?
“Uhm, I was thinking about mom,” Instantly, he gets off me as if I had just offended him. There comes the coldness again, and I can literally feel it.
“I have to get ready for work… Kyle will be back in midday, so whatever you do, do not leave the house,” He coldly says, not looking at me. I sit up and just then, my towel gets loose and falls to my waist, exposing my perky boobs with sharp n*****s.
Embarrassed, I pull the towel up and get up, running back upstairs to my room and shut the door, and silently cry.

I fell asleep after that whole tantrum in the morning and when I woke up, I found my luggage suitcases in the room. Perhaps my dad saw that I needed them, so he brought them up.
I settle for biker shorts and a red baggy t-shirt because I don’t have much plans today other than studying. It is almost midday, so I go down to order something to eat. I look through the menu, and I feel like eating Gatsby for lunch, so I call and order a Gatsby and a coke. I am told that my order will be ready in ten minutes and will be sent up from then. The doorbell rings, and I look at the little screen on the wall in the foyer surprisingly goes on, and I realise that it responds to the doorbell as I see Kyle’s face. Why didn’t I see that last night?
I excitedly walk to get the door and welcome him inside.
“Hey, little princess… are you ready?” He asks, leaving me dumbfounded.
“Ready? Ready for what?” I ask.
“Big boss asked me to take you home, princess,” He elaborates. I nod my head quietly and turn on my heels, heading upstairs, but before I could get far, he as, “Are you okay, princess?”
No, I am not okay. How do I tell him that I think I have daddy issues and I am becoming insubordinate, doing the unspeakable? My mother was buried almost three months ago, yet I am behaving mischievously. If she is looking at me now, she is probably thinking I am a disappointment.
“I just… I was supposed to be with my dad – my biological dad… argh, it doesn’t matter. Can you please help me get my luggage upstairs?”
The thought of seeing Thando’s face just makes me cringe. Oh, I am never going to hear the end of it.

It’s been three weeks since the apartment drama, and I made sure that I never speak about it nor bring it up to my dad because I just want to forget about it because i am still embarrassed, and I am grateful dad is not pushing. I just want to focus on my exams that are coming soon but for now, I am getting my matric dance outfit together.
Sheesh, child! I am going to look so hot, and Fana will regret ever dumping me. So, Thando and I are in the car with Kyle driving us to the shopping mall. Our dad topped up our bank accounts to get us what we need for our matric dance. I need a clutch or satchel bag that will not only be used on my matric dance but also on other occasions, so after a few shops we entered, I decide to go to the Loui Vuitton store, and surprisingly, Thando couldn’t agree more.
I decided to use Thando’s bedroom upstairs and she moved into mine because I want to keep peace between us. I did not get the warmest welcome when I returned, home and things between us are still not good because “the burden” is back at their dad’s house… I am the burden by the way.
Kyle is just following us, and he is no longer only my bodyguard, but all three of us, including Anele. He is in charge of us. He does not like Thando’s attitude. He says she is so rude but can only tolerate her because of the “big boss”.
As Thando and I look around, we both put our eyes on the same shoes, and we both pick them even though she does not like the idea of us having the same shoe. I roll my eyes and head to a different section with bags. The shop assistant walks up to me with an attitude.
“What are you doing here?” She asks.
“Excuse me?” I ask.
“I asked, what are you doing here, little girl? This is not the store that you can just walk in and eye shop. This is a shop for people who can afford these items. You must be a scammer. Leave before I call security,”
“But I am here to buy, and lady my father is rich, and I can definitely afford what I want in here,” I sneer. I turn to check on Thando, but she is already paying for her things, not forgetting to laugh at me.
The shop assistant also laughs.
“Yeah, right. Please leave,” She says.
What the hell did Thando tell this lady? I f*****g hate that girl. She waves her hand to me as she walks out. Wait, where is…
“Is there a problem here?” Kyle walks in with our dad.
“No, sir. This child here was just leaving… you know how kids are, taking chances but I handle it well. How may I assist you, sir?” The assistant asks.
“Mm, how kind of you to even ask. Sounds like you know me,”
“Who doesn’t know the powerful man in Sandton? It does not feel real that I am actually standing in front of a billionaire,” I look around the room, and all the women are prying on dad, but he pays no mind to them.
“I see, but there is nothing that you can assist me with because you have just lost your job,” he says, and everyone gasps. “Where is the manager of this shop? I either close this shop down or you hire professionals! How dare you look down on my baby girl like that? Thank goodness I was in the right place at the right time. I was attending a productive meeting and now I must attend this? You should be ashamed of yourself,”
The lady has her tongue twisted and looks like she is about to drop to the floor. I feel bad for her, but she tried to embarrass me.
“I am so sorry, sir. I was not aware of the altercation between your daughter and our staff member. This never happens, but we will take care of this. Are these the items that you wanted to purchase?” The male manager asks as soon as he gets to us.
“Yes, they are,” I answer.
“If you haven’t changed your mind about them, we can give them to you at a fifty percent discount. We will not fire her until she pays up the rest of the fifty percent,” He explains.
“That sounds good to me. Yolanda, will you be okay? I have to rush to another meeting,” My dad says.
“Yes, I will be fine, thank you,”
“Uhm, dad… can I get a lift from you?”
Thando asks and makes up an excuse about going to a friend’s house. Thando is just scared because she knows that I know that it is her fault that this lady is about to lose her salary and her job.
“Are you okay?” Kyle asks as he drives out of the mall.
“I will be okay, but I feel bad for that woman. It was Thando’s fault. I liked these shoes first and she also liked them, but she had a problem with me buying them, that is what happened,”
“Argh, that girl again!” He growls, annoyed.
Yep, that girl again.

My dress from Versace has arrived. It is burgundy with real diamonds twinkling all over it. It is backless, satin, off-shoulder with long sleeves, and a V-neck, exposing my cleavage. I like how long it is with a mermaid tail. It is just right.
“Okay, you can come in,” I call out. I wanted to fit it, so since Kyle is the only person in the house, he will be the first person to see me in this dress. Kyle and I have gotten so close, and we are too comfortable when we are together.
He walks in and I turn from the mirror to face him with a smile on my face.
“So, how do I look?”
His lips part to speak, but quickly shuts them as if words are failing him. I walk up close to him and hold his hands.
“Breathe,” I whisper.
Unexpectedly, he puts his hands on my waist and tilts his head.
“The dress looks beautiful, but you are more beautiful, princess,” He says, breathlessly before he slowly moves his face down to mine, and I close my eyes, waiting for action.
I feel his cool lips colliding with mine. I feel chills all over my body, making me take part in the kiss. It feels so good, but dad’s face flashes in my mind, forcing me to quickly pull away.
“f**k, big boss is going to kill me.” Kyle cusses.
