FFMSD – 18

KYLE I am not in my best mood today. I hate feeling vulnerable, but I do not understand why Yolanda would ignore my calls. Is it me – did I do or say anything wrong to make her feel some type of way and have second thoughts about me – us? God knows that I have never felt like this with anyone else. I know that I sound obsessed, but that is because I love her, and I have put all my trust in her. When I love someone, I give all my effort to that person, and the last thing I expect from them is a disappointment. I have been lied to and cheated on in my past relationships, and I won’t lie; that s**t f*****g hurt. I haven’t been in a serious relationship the way I want to be in one with Yolanda in two years. I was in love with this one girl, and she cheated on me and fell pregnant with another man’s baby. It was two days before my parkour tournament finals, and I really struggled to accept betrayal. I was hurt and broken, and it caused me to f**k up at the tournament. I fell off a high building and my body suffered serious trauma, but the Alpha became my guardian angel and made sure that I get the best treatment so that he can get to watch me compete again. He was my fan and my life changed ever since I met him. He gave me hope when no one believed in me anymore. I was under a lot of depression that year, and it took so much for me to move on from everything, but one thing that I remember promising myself is that I will NEVER give my love and heart to anyone anymore, but then I met Yolanda, and I went all in with my mind, soul, and body into her world to give her my love. I would be damned if she breaks my heart that way. I love her, dammit; why can’t she tell me what is wrong instead of ignoring my calls? I hate feeling lost and confused. Communication is important to me, and Yolanda must know that I am not a young boy. I am a man and I do not have time for games. “Dude, I need you to focus,” Capo taps my back. “Yeah, yeah… uhm… I am,” I say without looking at him. “What is wrong with you today? You were over the moon these past few weeks like someone who’ve won a lotto jackpot,” “Man, just leave me alone,” “Not when you are a threat to our mission. Did you find this thing called love?” I look at him deadly, but as always; Capo is not moved by anything. He never expresses himself, and you can never read him; you’d swear that he and the Alpha are brothers. How I am able to laugh around Capo really beats me. “You cannot fall in love, at least not now. We have big missions to fulfil and bringing love is not a good idea. End it,” He says as if it is simple to do as he said it, calmly and collectively. “You have never been in love, have you?” I chuckle, bitterly. “But I am not surprised. Who would want to date an emotionless man like you? You have no life,” I turn on my heels to walk away, only to be pulled back and get pinned against the table. My body shivers at the cold stare that Capo is giving me right now. “Listen to me because I am not going to repeat myself. If you ever speak to me like that, ever again, I will make you watch yourself die. You are a very small boy to me, and I like you a lot, but I would hate to squash you so hard. Never disrespect me like that, ever again,” He lets go of me and steps away. I pull myself up and fix my shirt. The other guys are just having their conversations, not even minding us. “We are leaving in five minutes. You all better ensure you are wearing the police uniform properly, and leave all your jewelleries, phones, and wallets behind. No one is getting hurt today. We are doing a clean job as the Alpha requested. The trucks must be led to the first secret location where the first robbery will take place, and then to the second secret location where the Alpha will be waiting for us. We need to get to the N1 tollgates before the real cops arrive. Do not mess this up,” Capo says, glaring at me. “Kyle and JR, you take the police SUV, and I will take the bike. Let’s go, wolves!” Everyone howls except for me. *** Here we are with real police uniforms, fake police ID and license, and police customised SUV, hijacking two trucks from Mozambique, loaded with God knows what! I am an Omega, so other than being told what to do, I am always the last to find out about anything. Whatever it is in these trucks must be very big. Had we not arrived there on time, these trucks would have been escorted by the cops to where they should originally go, but we pretended to be the cops and now we are misleading the truck drivers. We get to the first location where the Deltas are watching the territory, and they pretend to be the thieves and shoot at us, but we are wearing protective gears. The truck drivers get out of the trucks and kneel with their hands up while the Deltas change the registration numbers of the trucks and put different logos on them. I pretend to be protecting the truck drivers and make the run for their lives, but one of the wolves shoots at me on my upper back, just where the bulletproof is not protecting me and I fall down. The truck drivers wanted to pull me up and help me, but they just don’t know that this was part of the whole plan to make this whole thing look real, so I tell them to run. I just did not expect to be shot in my flesh. I am going to f*****g kill whoever did that. “f**k!” I scream in agony. “Kyle, are you alright?” JR asks, pulling me up. “We need to get going; come on, man!” I feel my soul fading away from my body. I can hardly even keep up with my eyes, but I can see that the trucks are now moving to the second secret location and the wolves are also driving out. Capo gets on his bike, and as much as I can hardly open my eyes, I clearly saw the smirk on his face. This bastard shot me! *** We get to the secret location, and I am getting weaker. I am lying on my stomach in the backseat, and I think I have lost a lot of blood. It is just a matter of time before I close my eye. I can’t die; I am not ready to die. “Come on, man… we are here, and Alpha called the doctor already. He is waiting for you,” JR says, helping me out of the bloody car with someone. They put me on the bed, and my eyes get blurry. “You are all going to explain what the f**k happened here! I clearly instructed, NO f*****g BLOOD! Why is one of my wolves shot and bleeding? Son, you better pull through, do you f*****g hear me!?” The Alpha roars. I feel a sting on my arm, and I just know that I have been injected with an anaesthetic. Everything starts fading away, my eyes are slowly shutting, and finally, my body gives in. *** YOLANDA It has been three days since I last spoke to Kyle. His phone has been off since two days ago when I tried calling him. It is morning, and I am up and ready for my final exam paper, and I am ready to see Kyle and tell him how sorry I am for making him feel or think like he was the problem that I did not answer his calls and messages. I love Kyle so much and I want us to freely love each other, and at this point, I feel like my stepfather has shown me the worst of him that I do not feel scared anymore. I just do not care what he will do to me if I tell him that I am in love, and he cannot stop me from receiving love. I am going to fight for Kyle. I walk down the staircases and I find Anele and dad having breakfast. “Good morning,” I greet, taking the bowl from the cabinet because I can’t really eat a heavy breakfast in the morning. I will have my cereal. “Hey, sis,” “Morning. Please hurry so that we can leave. I have an early meeting,” Dad says, making me frown as I take my seat next to Anele, far away from him. These past two days he seemed really destructed by something, so not much happened between us. Nothing is happening, but you know what I mean. No drama, no conflict, no whatsoever. “Is Kyle not coming?” I ask, pouring milk into my cereal. He uncomfortably shifts in his chair and clears his throat. “No,” He sternly says. “Did he say why?” Anele asks. “No,” He still responds without looking at me. I sigh as I lost my appetite. I was looking forward to seeing him. Is he okay? Why is his phone off? “When is he returning?” I ask. “Not anytime soon. One of the guards will be assigned to be your driver as of tomorrow. Eat up so that we can leave, girls,” I roll my eyes, sitting back in my chair. “I have lost my appetite.” Dad looks at me with squinted eyes and slowly shakes his head. *** Thando wrote her last paper yesterday, so we left her at home sleeping. Dad just parked the car in the school's yard, and before Anele could jump out of the car and run to her friends, he wishes her the best of luck. I open the door to get out, but I am forced to quickly close it when I feel a warm hand landing on my thigh. I am wearing a navy blue school skirt which is five centimeters up from my knees, making it even shorter when I am seated, so my thighs are a bit exposed. I gasp, looking at it, squeezing me softly. My heart is palpitating, and I can't even lift my finger. I slowly look up at my dad who is facing forward, expressionless. "Good luck on your final paper." I swallow hard and nod my head so quickly as if I am doing it to save my life.
