FFMSD – 35

DANIEL I stand in front of my wife’s grave and take off my shades. I look down at the grave before I lean with one knee on it, dropping the white tulips on top of it. “I am ashamed to only show up now since we last buried you. I have not been the same person since you left, and I am not proud of it. Today we will be celebrating you with our friends and family, and sadly, you won’t be here with us to see that. You left a huge void, and the kids miss you – I miss you. I want you to know that I am sorry, Mary. Your death was completely my fault. I wish we didn’t come back home that night; I wish I had let you follow me to my warehouse because I know you wouldn’t have fallen off the stairs and hit your head. I cannot help but blame myself. I am sorry I did not tell you the truth from the beginning, and I hope that you forgive me. I love you so much, believe me.” I pause and take a moment to myself because I have more to say to her. Jeez, this is unlike me to speak to a grave, but I need to vent to my wife. I never thought I would say this, especially when I am acting like a horny teenage boy trying to court a girl, but I miss my wife and wish she was here. “I did something, Mary. Actually, I have been doing things since you died, and I won’t say that I am proud, but I have strong feelings. I have been trying to make your daughter mine; I know it sounds bad and I want to kick myself every day about it, but ever since you left us, my feelings grew so strong for her. Well, she has a boyfriend, and you know me, I would have ended the whole thing before it even started but this time, I let her be and did not bother finding out about the boy in her life because I honestly have long-term goals planned for her and she is still young, so I want her to live her life and maybe someday, I will outgrow the feelings I have for her and move on with my life, but honestly, Mary; I had plans with you and I thought by now you and I would have had a son. We tried and reached our limit. I really wanted us to have a baby of our own, and just when we were considering other options, you left me which was completely my fault. I want you to know that I meant no harm to Yolanda, and she is the closest thing to you. I would never hurt her, and I never intended to belt her. Lastly, I am not getting any young, and I would love to have more kids, kids with someone young… like Yolanda. For whatever decision Yolanda might decide to make, please do not punish her. Punish me instead because it would be my fault,” I sigh, getting up. “I need to go now, my love. I cannot believe that this would be the first Christmas without you, but don’t worry, I will cook your favourite food… well, I will learn to, sweetheart. I love you.” *** As soon as I walk into my house, I immediately want to turn and leave. It is so busy everywhere. The kitchen has three chefs, cooking a storm, and the rest of the house is owned by the maids and decorators. I must say, it looks pretty good, and I swear I do not recognise my mansion at all. “Sir, would you like us to open both doors at the foyer?” One of the maids ask. “Yes, open the sliding door too, and tell the chefs to set up the dining table on the porch with platters. Some of my guests are heavy smokers and would prefer to chill outside most of the time. When are the waiters arriving?” “They should be here in an hour to get familiar with the house before the party starts,” I nod and look around, hoping to see some of my girls. “They are not here, sir. They went to get their hair done. One of the guards drove them to the hair salon,” These kids! I hope that they get here on time. “Thank you. You are dismissed.” Before I could even head upstairs to get ready, my name gets called, so I look back and I see Capo walking in from the back door. I meet him halfway and lead him to the study. “You look like you haven’t slept. How was Cosa Nostra?” “Mind-numbing, but I gained something from someone at least. Pablo, he made an offer and I do not think you will refuse it. He gave me something as he believes that I am the Alpha, but I am here to run it through you first before I can get back to him,” We sit down on the armchairs and talk about the event I sent him to attend. “So, what is the offer?” I ask. “He needs a turf, like a warehouse where he can push his stuff, as long as it won’t interfere with your territory. So, he offered some stash worth twelve million rand,” “Stash? Are you talking about…” “Cocaine,” “Mmh, handle it. I can give him my turf in Soweto, but make sure that he is not using it to kidnap kids, women, young girls, or whatever because I would hate to personally break his neck, Capo,” “Don’t worry, I will keep my eye on him.” *** I had just gotten out of the shower, and I am busy drying up my body in the bathroom when I hear fiddles in my room. I wrap the towel around my waist and walk out of the bathroom. “Yolanda, what are you doing in my room?” I firmly ask. “Oh, you are done. Can you help me zip up this dress?” She asks, holding the dress against her chest with her back facing me. “Did you have to come here? There are a lot of people in the house, yet you chose to come here?” She swiftly turns and faces me. My eyes widen up and my chest rises highly before it dies down. She is wearing her mother’s favourite royal blue dress with a mermaid tail. That is why she is in my room, and I am the only one who can help her zip it up. Gosh, I don’t want to touch her, yet she is forcing me to. “That is Mary’s dress. Why are you wearing it?” I ask, nervously. “This day is about her, Daniel, and I am Mary’s daughter,” She softly says before she tugs her hair behind her ear. She has human-Peruvian-Brazilian hair or whatever you call it. Shoulder length and beautiful peach black. I thought she hated weaves, but she looks so beautiful. The make-up and the red lipstick make her look more like her mother. Fuck, Mary has come back to life again. “Daniel, focus. Can you zip my dress up?” She snaps. “No, I can’t,” I turn and look away. “You can’t or you won’t?” “I will not, Yolanda!” I lowly roar. “Why, Daddy?” Her tone softens up. I cuss in a low tone and turn back to her. “Stop, Yolanda,” I warn her. “Why? Because of Petunia?” She tilts her head. What does she know about Petunia? “Nothing is going on between us,” “It is so hard to believe. And you cannot fool me, Daniel. I saw you with her in your office doing things, and I am wondering if mom knew. You cheated on my mom with someone she saw a friend in,” s**t, she saw us? I remember noticing the door a little open, but I did not think much about it. This little girl saw me doing “things” for real? That was the only time I f****d Petunia in my office, so I believe Yolanda when she says she saw me cause it f*****g happened. “I never cheated on your mother, and I will not allow you to speak to me like that, little girl, I am still your father!” “You are lying! You cheated on my mother! You slept with Petunia, and it is not even a year since we buried mom,” She starts crying. “I never cheated on your mother! I loved her and I would never hurt her like that. Why does it bother you anyway; or did you catch feelings? I heard you call out my name a few days ago at night. Would I rather sleep with you, baby girl? Is that why you are angry?” I step closer to her. She gasps, holding on to the dress for dear life. “D-don’t get closer to me,” “I thought you wanted me to zip your dress; or did you change your mind?” I place my hands on her waist and slowly pull her to my body before I slide my hands to her back and get hold of the zipper. I slowly run it up and I can feel her breath fanning against my chest. She is scared yet wants to act tough. “You can let go of the dress now. If you are done, please leave so that I can get dressed, and next time, don’t just enter my room and do as you please unless you want to move in,” I whisper in her ear, tracing my fingers around her back, seductively.
