Another sad day

Paris’s POV “You have to leave already?” Aunt asks “Yes I have business in China.” Uncle says back to Aunt Oh no! He is leaving already? It’s literally the day after Christmas! “Don’t worry it’s only for 5 days, I will be back before you know it. Bye everyone, I will see you guys in a few days.” he says as he kisses us all bye and walks to the taxi outside. I see Bethany run upstairs crying and then Aunt looks at me disgusted. “What are you looking at rat?” she asks me as I put my head down walking towards my room  “Oh no! You will not get away with it today. I heard your uncle brought food and gifts for you? Didn’t I say no food?” she asks That’s not fair! He gave it to me as gifts. And I haven’t touched food in days why now? “You will pay for not listening to me!” she says She drags me back down to the garage. From there I wish she took my life instead. I look up at the moon through the garage window as I sit there blood draining from my body.  Uncle I am sorry I am such a disappointment to you, when you treat me so well. When I see in your eyes that you want me to fight and you can’t do much for me. I am sorry, but I don’t want to live anymore. “Isn’t that your cousin?” a boy says to Bethany “No she is just someone who is from a foreign country who stays with us.” she says back to him  “Wow! Look at her clothes and shoes. Have you not shown her what the new styles are and trends? He asks her “She only does what she wants. She never listens and she always causes drama in our house that is why my dad can’t take it anymore and leaves because she argues too much with everyone.” she says back to him The lies! Why does she say that?  “I would stay far away from her. If not you may just get cursed or even worse, she may just follow you around like she tries to do at my house with me all the time.” she says back to the boy Another lie! “Yeah no way is that going to happen with me.” he says back to her walking the opposite direction of me After that day, I knew that Bethany would be worse then my aunt. For years I would go through this. Middle school was horrible for me as I walked through Bethany’s shadow as people knew me as a foreign exchange student living with them. I never got to attend any family functions and was always the outcast in our family. Even cousins from across the world would not play with me because I was cast off from my parents. No matter how much I tried or how many times I thought I succeeded for some reason, my uncle always ended up getting to me in time before I could end my life. There were many times after that Christmas Day that my uncle stayed out longer on business trips. Aunt would always blame things on me. The beatings got worse. “Do it now Paris! Put your head down by the toilet seat.” she says to me Whenever I do she knocks my head against it and slams the seat down on my  head continuously while flushing the toilet so the water would hit my face. No matter how many times I scream, no one can hear me. No one will help me. No one even cares. Even as much as how I love my uncle, he will never stop the beatings he just runs away. School is even worse. At least when I go home I get beat and then go to my room. School is where all the kids make fun of me continuously all day. They would put gum in my hair, throw paper airplanes at me, steal FREE lunch. Anything you can think of happened to me. Someone even cut my hair in class when I dozed off for seconds I swear. Only seconds! I had to cut my hair shorter than my shoulders and that’s when everything got worse. Instead of calling me Paris they called me Pason. It was more of a boy name for them. They called me a boy and when I would wear dresses they would say I am a drag queen. No matter how much I tried, they always found something to pin on me. My teachers would look at me in disgust. They never cared. I would find myself hiding in the library. That was the only place everyone had to be quiet no matter what. The library was my safe haven. I would go there all the time to hide from everyone. I went there so many times that reading was actually fine for me so I would get lost in many books. You know at that time, I realized business and engineering books interested me the most. Even today I would read about the new upbringing of the stock market or what new bridges were built and etc. “Paris where have you been? Aunt asks “I was at the library studying.” I say back to her “You came back too late. Who is going to cook dinner? Your uncle will be home any minute now.” she says Now I am not only a maid but a chef as well. I do all the chores, I have to cook, but I only will cook now since uncle should be home instead of complaining and taking longer. I rush to cook dinner and make steak, potatoes and steamed veggies. Uncle likes this the most. Everything is set, the table is good to go, food is hot and ready and we are just waiting for uncle. I am happy too since I will be able to eat a full meal. It’s been 2 hours and my uncle has not come home yet. I am getting anxious as we wait for my uncle. Bethany looks nervous as well as we both look at aunt who is steaming. This is not good. He is not coming home tonight. Aunt slams the food on the table to the floor and screams at me for making a bad dinner. Bethany leaves to go to her room as I clean up the mess. “You are hungry right Paris?” Aunt says to me I don’t say anything and start cleaning. She makes me eat the food on the floor like a rat and then beats me after I eat it. I throw up all my food all over me and her and she beats me more after. After I clean the mess she leaves to her room. I can’t wait to get out of here. I hate it here. One day I will build an empire that will strengthen the weak and prosper with gold and I will never look back here again.
