Paris

Paris’s POV “Hey Mr! Hello are you okay? Hello Mr. Sir?”  Whose voice is that? “I left some food for you here and a blanket. It looks like you got hurt and haven’t eaten. You’ve been here for a few days and I haven’t seen you move. Are you dead?”  That voice. I’ve been hearing it for so long.  “Okay well I’m going to leave Mr. Sir bye.”  Don’t leave! I just can’t move, but I am still alive. Why am I still alive? Where am I? Is this Celerin? I woke up to this weird town.  There is so much noise and disruption here. Where am I? Where is everyone? Wait who am I? I walk this world and it looks nothing like the world I am from.  Wait? Where am I from? Where is that voice I have been looking for? It disappeared. I have been walking for 7 days and I can’t find her. Maybe I will need to walk back to where I was and see if she is there. Will she find me? Will she help me? Where has she gone? Where have I gone? Why can’t I remember things?  Paris POV Man I am late again. They are going to fire me sooner or later. I can't lose this job. I barely have money to get by. I rush to the diner and run through the door putting on my apron and throwing my stuff in my locker.  “Mr.James, good morning.” I say to a regular customer sitting down about to order.  “Hey Paris, long time no see.” he says back to me.  “It’s been a rough week, but I am here.” I say back to him.  “Glad that you’re here. I would like the usual.” he says back to me.  “You got it, Mr.James. Let me get you some coffee and I will put the order in after.” I say back to him.  “Thank you Paris.” he says back to me as I run to the back to make a fresh pot of coffee.  “You get lucky every single time, Paris!” Carter says to me.  “Lucky how?” I ask.  “Mr. Neal hasn’t come in yet so you lucked out.” he says to me.  “Thank goodness. I would have been in big big…  “Trouble!” says Mr.Neal “Oh hey Mr.Neal, you look great today.” I say to Mr.Neal “Forget it Paris! I can’t let this keep happening. What if someone wasn’t here to serve? How would this look on me?” he asks me “I know I am so sorry. I really do need this job. I can’t go back home.” I say to him pleading.   “If you are late one more time you are out of here kid!” he yells at me.  “Roger that Mr.Neal. I will get this order in for Mr.James now.” I say to him as I run out back to the register.  Ugh it’s been such a long shift. I can’t be late anymore to work. I’ve been waiting for that one guy I saw by my trash can that one morning, but he hasn’t showed up. Hopefully he has found something to eat and is much better wherever he is.  This is also a long walk back home at night too.  I’ve been living on my own for about 3 months. I couldn’t live in my old house anymore. My cousin and aunt make my life like hell. I am tired of the abuse and the way they treat me. I feel bad for my uncle. He is such a great guy. If only he had better women in his life so that he could be treated well like how he should be.  So I was able to move out and get my own apartment under 2 conditions: 1. Finish school as I am a Junior in High school and 2. Come home every weekend. Aunty wants to make sure social services see’s that I am still living there so she can collect money from the state for keeping me. As you can see my adult life was pushed up years in advance, but I’m okay with it. I rather live on my own then in that place with them.  Oh and there is more! My family and I are witches. Well not I but my family.  See my mom and dad are both powerful witches. When my mom was pregnant she was ecstatic to have a baby girl, but things were too good to be true for them. See I have an issue with my eyes and I am not made of magic.  One eye is blue and the other silver. Witches believe that it is a bad omen so my parents decided to give me up. And to add icing to the cake, I have no type of anything close to magic in my body. Not even an inch of fairy dust. My parents hid my birth and my dad announced my mom had a miscarriage. Yay me right! The pathetic child who has no magical powers, parents don’t want her and she has different eyes. And to make things worse my parents are one of the most powerful couples in our kingdom. Sigh *** My uncle being the kind man that he is asked if he could take me in and adopt me as his own so he did. Of course aunt and Bethany hated that, but uncle couldn’t let me go to an orphanage. When I lived there I had to do all the chores in the house and they gave me portions of food.  If you’ve ever read Harry Potter, that was my life but me without any powers. Everyone in my family has powers, but me. My parents thought it was due to them being so powerful that my body wasn’t able to hold any powers transferred over to me from them.  Oh well. I can’t harbor over things I don’t have so this is my life. There is more to my story but we have a lot of time to go over. Hopefully I make it through this world.
