It’s eight very long hours before we arrive at the Dark Moon pack. Alpha Damon didn’t try to talk to me the rest of the ride which I was happy about. The gates to the pack are gold with a large black moon in the middle that breaks in half when they open. The pack house or should I say mansion is beautiful. It’s all white with black shudders and large double doors with golden knobs at the entrance.
“Do you like it?” Alpha Damon asks me like my approval matters
“It’s very beautiful, Alpha Damon.” I tell him honestly.
“Princess, your my mate please just call me Damon.” He smiles at me. He has a nice smile.
He opens his door and motions for me to get out. I slide across the seat and just as my feet touch the ground I look up to see a large man running at us from inside the house.
“Princess Arora it’s so nice to meet you! I’m Alpha Damon’s Beta, my names Clark.” He wraps me up in a bear hug.
“Oh, well it’s nice to meet you too Beta Clark.” I laugh.
“Please just call me Clark, I’m so happy you’re here. Mr. Grumpy here has been waiting for you for a long time. Come on everyone is waiting inside.” He grabs me pulling me with him.
When we walk in there are lots of people waiting to meet me. It’s overwhelming.
“Clark I need to talk to you now.” I hear Damon say sounding pissed.
I am standing awkwardly as all these people stare at me smiling, except one man who looks like he’s never smiled in his life. A young girl probably around my age comes running up to me.
“Princess we are all so happy to meet you. I know you’ve had a long drive and this is probably overwhelming so I’ll introduce you to everyone quickly. I’m Damon’s sister Helena and over here are our parents Rick and Elle.”
“Oh honey it’s so lovely to have you here. We were beginning to think Damon would never find his mate.” His mother sounds relieved
“It’s so nice to meet you. You have a beautiful home.” I say because I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to say. I can’t exactly tell her that my parents forced me to come here and that if it were up to I would’ve already rejected him. She gives me a bright smile just as Damon walks back into the room.
“Princess Arora and I have had a very long trip and the last thing she needs is to be overwhelmed with all this. Everyone will meet her in due time.” He motions for me to come with him and I gladly comply.
We walk up three flights of stairs to the very top floor, his room is on the left wing. When we walk in it takes me a second to take it in. The walls are painted black and covered in beautiful paintings. His bed is huge with red silk sheets and matching comforter. He has a whole living room in his bedroom. Three beautiful red leather couches in front of a fire place with a large TV hanging above.
“We can change anything you don’t like. I seen your room at the castle so I know this is probably not your style” he tells me but I can tell by the way he’s looking around that he loves his room how it is
“I may not be here in 6 months so I’m not going to make any changes to your things.” I can’t help but state the obvious
He walks over to me and cups me cheeks in each of his large hands making me look up at him. I feel sparks explode and for the first time the bond actually affects me.
“Please don’t think that way Princess. I am going to try my hardest to show you I am not a bad person. The Moon Goddess blessed me with you.” He says stroking my cheek with his thumb
I am lost for words so all I can manage to do is nod. He turns from me and goes into the bathroom. I hear the shower start running so I make myself comfortable on a couch turning the TV on to find something to watch. I settle on a reality dating show when Damon catches my attention. His hair is still dripping wet and he’s only wearing black sweat pants. His stomach, chest, and arms are exposed showing off his tattoos of wolves running wild and different moons phases. He looks f*****g hot. I squeeze my thighs together mentally trying to convince myself it’s just the bond causing me to have this reaction.
“You know I can smell when you’re aroused, right?” He says with a wicked smile.
“I..I..I need a shower.” I bolt for the bathroom needing to put some kind of wall between us.
“No witty comeback this time, Princess?” I hear him say just before I slam the door shut
I have never been so embarrassed. I turn the shower on as hot as it’ll go and get in enjoying the sting on my skin. I’m lost in the sensation of the hot water when I realize I didn’t bring my stuff in here with me. So, it’s either use his or yell for him to bring me my products. I settle on just using his because I’ve embarrassed myself enough but of course I realize when I get out that not only did I not bring my products in here but I also didn’t bring any clothes. Get it the f**k together Arora!
“Damon, can you bring me my suitcase I don’t have any clothes.” I ask through the cracked door
I hear him laugh then drop my suitcase by the door. I’m happy to find when I open it that my mother was considerate enough to actually pack me things I would normally wear. I pull out a big shirt and shorts thankful to have some comfort clothes in this uncomfortable situation.
I walk out of the bathroom to see Damon is sitting on the couch with two trays of food in front of him on the table. The smell makes my stomach growl. I hadn’t even realized I was hungry.
“I asked the kitchen to bring us up some food. I figured you would be hungry.” I’m not going to read too much into it but it’s nice of him.
“Yes, thank you I’m actually starving.” I say and he smiles at me.
It’s a burger with fries and a fruit cup on the side. When I bite into my burger it’s so delicious I let out a moan. I see Damon stiffen up before clearing his throat.
“I was thinking tomorrow I could take you on a tour of the grounds if you would like.” Not really, but that’s not what I say.
“Yeah I would like that. Your sister and mom seem very nice.” His family does seem fairly normal for him to be some kind of evil leader
“They are great. I wish they would’ve chosen a better time but I am glad you got to meet them. They were so excited when I told them about you.” He smiles at me and for some reason I get the feeling he doesn’t smile often
“I’m assuming they don’t know about the six month agreement do they?” I ask but already know the answer
“No and I’m hoping I won’t have to tell them. I meant what I said, I’m going to work hard to win you over Princess.” He looks me in my eyes when he says it
“Tomorrow is a good start.” I hope..
Once we finish eating my eyelids start feeling heavy. It’s been a long day and now that my stomach is full all I want to do it go to sleep.
“We should get to bed, we have a long day tomorrow. Do you have a side of the bed you like to sleep on?” Damon must be a mind reader
“Umm.. no my bed was really just big enough for me so I slept in the middle. You can sleep on the side you usually do.” I tell him uncomfortable with the concept of us sleeping in the same bed
He gets in on the right side so I walk around to the other side. His sheets are insanely soft and the comforter is too. I stay all the way on the edge as far away as possible.
“Good night, Princess.” Damon says
“Good night, Alpha.” I say as I fall asleep
