Grounds Tour

I wake with Damon’s large arm wrapped around me. It feels nice, really nice, too nice. I’ve never been this comfortable in my life. That’s when my mind snaps back to reality and I jolt up rolling out of the bed. Damon stirs but he surprisingly doesn’t wake. I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and gather my thoughts. Under my eyes are dark and I just look.. defeated. How did I end up here? My Lycan Rain decides the chime in, she’s been angry at me for the way I’ve been acting towards Damon. How is she going to side with him over me? She think I shouldn’t have judged him so harshly. “You’d look better if you’d stop fighting the bond so hard” she’s technically right but it still makes me mad “I’d look better if I was in my own home and not here.” I snap back “I don’t know why you won’t just give him a chance. I’ve spoke to his wolf and he’s very sweet.” She sounds like a love sick puppy, I guess she kind of is. Which is why I have to be the rational one. “He’s taking me on a tour today and we will see how that goes. All those stories we have heard can’t just be made up Rain there’s truth to them somewhere.” “Just remember the Moon Goddess put you together for a reason Rory. And she doesn’t make mistakes.” With that she retreats and leaves me to my own thoughts. When I walk out of the bathroom Damon is sitting up in the bed. How does he look so hot after just waking up? “Who were you talking to in there?” His brows knit together like he’s confused “My Lycan Rain, she said she’s talked to your wolf and wanted me to know he’s sweet.” I tell him “Ohhh. So she’s met Ares, he’s been going crazy to meet her. They must’ve talked while we were sleeping.” He smiles He gets up out of the bed and goes to the bathroom while I dig through my suitcase for something to wear on the tour. I decide on a light pink sweater, skinny jeans, and the converse I wore here because my mother didn’t send any other shoes for me. I pull my hair back into a high ponytail and call it good. I’m not exactly trying to impress anyone. Damon walks from the bathroom into his huge walk in closet. When he comes out he’s wearing a tight black shirt, jeans and black combat boots. Goddess this man is sexy there’s no denying that I’m practically drooling over him. “Are you ready for your tour, Princess?” He asks with a grin. He definitely caught me staring at him, it’s not like he doesn’t know he’s hot though. “Yes, after you.” I say motioning toward the door. He leads me down the stairs, through the corridor and out the front door. Straight ahead is nothing but beautiful forest, it’s refreshing. He leads me to a walk way to the right of the house and we begin to walk it. About half a mile from the pack house is a large hospital. “Our hospital is filled with the finest doctors from different parts of the world.” He says proudly “That’s impressive, what is it that you do exactly?” I ask “I buy and sell stock.” He states “Isn’t that kind of a risky business?” I ask “Yes, but I’m very good at it.” I notice how he enunciates the word ‘very’. We continue to walk and come up to the pack training facility. It’s a large building with a football size field behind it. When we walk in the first thing I notice is the boxing ring in the middle. There are punching bags hanging from various places and weights align basically every wall. The boxing ring is blood stained and I can tell they do hard training in here. “Have you been through warrior training? Our pups start at age 5 and we weed them out as they get older. Only the very best are warriors for my pack.” I can tell he’s very proud “Yes I have, you start them at 5? Isn’t that kinda early?” I’m a Lycan and I didn’t even start training until I was 8. “I am training warriors here. The earlier they start the less time I waste on the ones who don’t cut it. If I had it my way they would start earlier than that but my mother said that is just cruel.” He says like he’s annoyed. I think I even see him roll his eyes “Yeah, well your mother is right. I think starting them at 5 is just cruel but it’s not my pack.” I say holding my hands up. “No. It isn’t.” He says like it I’ve offended him. We leave the training ground and head down the path again coming up on a large flea market. There are booths for produce, fruits, meat, clothes, soap, cleaning supplies. “We are self sufficient here, we have many gardens and we hunt for our meat. Our soaps and clothes are all made here along with cleaning products and anything you could possibly need. I run a buy sell trade system.” He says again proudly “Wow, this is honestly amazing. I’ve never seen a pack run like this.” We walk through and I talk to various people running different booths, I notice none of them look up when we speak to them even when I told them they don’t have to look down. “Why were people looking down when I was speaking to them?” I ask Damon “They are instructed to. They are not to make eye contact with the higher up’s here.” He can’t be serious “Haha you’re joking right? I mean who do you think you are? I’m the Princess of the royal kingdom and I don’t enforce people to look down when speaking to me I encourage them to make eye contact.” I feel myself getting angry at his audacity “It is a rule my father enforced and he encourages I do them same. If your people fear you they respect you, Princess.” He snaps “Fear and respect are not the same Damon. Don’t expect me to enforce people not to look at me because I believe the most respectful thing you can do is look someone in the eye when speaking to them” I snap back He lets out a huff but doesn’t continue arguing. We keep walking until we come to multiple subdivisions with very nice homes. They all look the exact same, white with black shudders. “The housing is divided into different sections. The first section is for newly mated couples, it is a one bedroom and fully furnished. When they start having pups they are moved to different sections with more rooms.” He tells me “That’s quite the system you have.” What I want to tell him is that his pack looks like it should be in a simulation, but I don’t. “It works. We should head back, it’s almost lunch time.” We are walking back through the flea market when a blonde girl with perky boobs and too much makeup runs up and throws herself onto Damon. “Damon I’m so glad you’re back. I was beginning to think you had forgotten about me.” She says with a pout. He peels her arms off of him and pushes her back some. “Annabella this is my mate, Princess Arora.” He says motioning towards me. “What do you mean? I thought you didn’t have a mate, Damon! What the hell is this? I’m supposed to be your Luna! She yells “Well, Damon it seems like you have your hands full here so I’m going to head back to the house.” I go to walk away but Annabella grabs my arm. “To be a Princess you’re pretty bland” she says with a laugh. This is not going to be good.
