Sarah stood outside, gazing at the stars, lost in thought. "It's been three months since they sent a search team to look for my husband's ship, and still, no news." Her pregnancy was close to its due date, and the thought of raising a child alone was daunting. Despite the frustration and stress, the baby brought her hope and strength.
As she looked at her belly, she smiled, unsure if she was having a boy or girl, but eager to meet her child. Her niece, Mary, interrupted her thoughts, concerned about her being outside in the cold. Sarah reassured her, and they shared a warm moment.
The next day, Sarah attended a meeting with the board of directors, hoping for good news about her husband's fate. Her niece accompanied her, and they arrived at the meeting room, where many families of the missing crew members were present. Dr. Paul, her husband's best friend, entered with the head of the board, and Sarah felt a sense of familiarity.
Here's a polished version of your text, with some minor changes for clarity and flow:
Sarah stood outside, lost in thought, gazing at the stars. Three months had passed since the search team was sent to find her husband's ship, but there was still no news. Her pregnancy was nearing its due date, and the thought of raising a child alone was overwhelming. Yet, the baby brought her hope and strength.
As she looked at her belly, she smiled, excited to meet her child, regardless of whether it was a boy or girl. Her niece, Mary, interrupted her thoughts, worried about her being outside in the cold. Sarah reassured her, and they shared a warm moment.
The next day, Sarah attended a meeting with the board of directors, hoping for updates on her husband's fate. Her niece accompanied her, and they arrived at the meeting room, where many families of the missing crew members were present. Dr. Paul, her husband's best friend, entered with the head of the board, and Sarah felt a sense of familiarity .
As the meeting began, the head of the board, Mr. Johnson, cleared his throat and started speaking. "Ladies and gentlemen, we understand the concern and worry that has been weighing on your minds for the past three months. We want to assure you that we have been working tirelessly to find out what happened to the crew of the ship."
Sarah's heart skipped a beat as she leaned forward, her eyes fixed on Mr. Johnson.
Dr. Paul, who was standing beside him, took over. "We have received a distress signal from the ship's black box. It appears that the ship encountered a severe storm and was damaged beyond repair. The crew had to abandon ship, but unfortunately, we have not been able to locate any survivors."
Sarah felt like she had been punched in the gut. She couldn't breathe. She couldn't think. All she could do was feel the pain and the fear.
Mr. Johnson continued, "We know this is not the news you were hoping for, but we want to assure you that we will do everything in our power to find out what happened to your loved ones. We will continue to search for them and provide you with any updates as soon as we have them."
Sarah's mind was racing. What did this mean? Was her husband really gone? She couldn't accept it. She needed to know more.
Dr. Paul approached her, his eyes filled with compassion. "Sarah, I know this is hard to hear, but we have to be realistic. The chances of survival are slim, but we will not give up hope. We will keep searching and do everything we can to find out what happened to your husband."
Sarah nodded, trying to process the information. She felt like she was in a daze, like she was living in a nightmare that she couldn't wake up from. She looked at her niece, Mary, who was holding her hand, tears streaming down her face,
"Good day, ladies and gentlemen," the head of the board member said, his voice laced with sorrow. "We all know why we're here. The search has been called off." The room fell silent, as if the weight of his words had sucked the air out of everyone's lungs.
I hesitantly turned to the people in the room, some of whom were already in tears. The reality of the situation hit me like a ton of bricks. I slowly got up and walked out of the office, my heart heavy with grief.

Dr. Paul's POV:
I watched as Sarah walked out of the office, her niece by her side. I felt a pang of sadness, seeing the pain etched on her face. My best friend, Kelvin, was part of the mission. We grew up together, shared every moment of our lives. Knowing I'd never see him again broke my heart.
I quickly ran after Sarah, calling out her name. "Sarah, Sarah!" But she didn't respond, didn't even turn around. She just kept walking, like a zombie.
"Sarah, look, you need to take things slowly," I said, trying to reason with her. "You're soon to have a baby. I need you to be strong." She slowly turned to me, her eyes blazing with tears.
"YOU SAID I SHOULD BE STRONG?" she yelled, her voice cracking. "What have I been doing? I told him not to go, but he insisted on leaving me, promising he'd be back soon for us. He never came back to me... why? My baby is gonna grow without a father. TELL ME what I should do now. He's... not coming back, Paul. Why me?"
She cried out, her body shaking with sobs. I felt helpless but relieved she was finally releasing her emotions. I walked to her and gave her a shoulder to cry on, holding her niece who was also in tears. They both cried on me until I felt Sarah's weight on my body. I tapped her to make sure she was alright. "Sarah... Sarah..." I called out, but she didn't respond. That's when I noticed she had fainted.
