The rise of the phoenix

"I woke up feeling dazed" I tried opening my eyes slowly to look at my surroundings because I could feel the bed wasn't my bed from home. I stood up trying to look around, that's when I realized I was in the hospital.
But how did I get here? I thought.
"Your awake " how are you feeling?,
Paul asked, walking into the room.
What happened to me? I ask turning to his direction.
Try and remember. I heard him say.
That's when I recall the news of my husband and me passing out.
I could not help but to cry with the thought of not seeing my husband ever again and what will happen to me and my baby..... WAITING for my baby I quickly put my hands on my stomach but I could not feel anything.
Aaah!!!! Where's my baby paul? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED to my baby paul... Why can't I feel it? I yell at him.
"Calm down " Sarah the baby is.....
What the hell, you're telling me to calm down. I can't feel my baby and you're telling me to calm down. I cried out.
"Will you let me explain first?" I heard myself say, I had no choice but to slowly walk to the bed like a zombie and sit on it, waiting for the worst to happen. I could not imagine my life without my baby.
"Sarah, your baby is fine ". He said after a few minutes of silence.

I felt helpless and worried at the same time when she passed out in my hands, I couldn't imagine how she felt at that moment she lost her husband, she was broken beyond repair.
Before my best friend I made a promise to look after his wife and child if anything happens to him.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY? '' She looked me straight in the eye looking for answers.
"I said the baby is fine Sarah, something happened to you. I don't know if you would remember but when you fainted I brought you to the hospital. It turns out you were in a serious shock when the news of your husband somehow affected the baby So.... We had no choice but to take the baby out.
And it turns out your baby is a very strong girl, she came out okay and she's now sleeping in the children's nursery .

Can I see her please? I beg Paul to take me to her.
Okay... But you can't hold her yet you need to recover first. He said.
Yes, I will recover first. I said excitedly.
********children nursery room****
We walk through the rooms in the hospital until we arrive at the nursery room . The moment we got in we tried to search for her even though I don't know what she looks like.
"There she is, " I said pointing at a small baby crib. I slowly moved to the crib when I saw a small but adorable little girl sleeping. I could not but smile with tears in my eyes, putting my hands over my month trying not not to have a sound.
She looked beautiful with her light skin, her tiny nose and small hands and legs. Looking at her brought joy to my heart. I could not help but cry.
"Sarah, you shouldn't be crying , you should stop the tears you've been crying for days now, " Paul said.
Am sorry I couldn't help it. I said with a small smile.
"Where's my niece? I haven't seen her since I woke up. I asked?
Mmmm... Yeah I sent her home to rest. She has been lacking some sleep since you were in the hospital. He said.
How long have I been unconscious? I asked?
"Hmm... 4 days now". He said.
"What!! 4 days that's long " I said looking at him shocked.
"Don't worry "everything will be fine, you will be discharged after some weeks. He said.
Okay.. I nodded and looked at my sleeping princess one last time before I went to rest.
****** 2 weeks later***
It's been two weeks now, I finally got to go home with my princess
She was too adorable the first time I took her in my hands it felt like holding a little ball in my hands.
She has these beautiful Hazel eyes and her small pink lips.
"Thank you so much for all you have done for me and my baby " I said.
He smiled " you don't need to thank me I would love to do more and besides phoenix is my goddaughter I will do anything for her.
We talked for a little while until we said our goodbyes. I walked into the house , I saw my niece and phoenix cuddling and watching a kid show.
I could not help but join them. We watched the show, we laughed, and joked until we all fell asleep on the couch.
....... I woke up to the sound of the telephone ringing. I rushed to pick the call before it ended.
"Hello"....
"Hello, my sister is Maria ".
"Maria it's been a while," how's everyone back home doing.
Maria is my sister and also the mother of my niece Mary.
"Everyone is fine dear", how are you doing? Mary told me what happened and am really sorry sister for not being there for you.
"It's okay i'm fine now and besides you had to stay and look after the people back home ". I said.
"Thank you for understanding me dear" is how my little angel is doing.
"She's fine, so... Anything interesting happening back home.
"Yeah," you would believe what happened, it's weird.
"How weird ".
"Sarah, it's like a high level of weirdness.
Go on, tell me.
"Few weeks back something strange happened. We were all sitting outside taking in some air when the clouds turned dark. We all thought it was a rain cloud but it wasn't. The whole thing got scary when a shadow red shape like a bird passed by in the clouds .
After the whole scary moment they summoned papa and chiefs to meet.
"That is so scary Maria " and what does papa say about it? I asked
"He said the chiefs discovered that the shadow shaped like a bird was the legendary phoenix bird " . It was awakened by its master.
"What... But that can't be", the story was just a myth right.
"It turns out to be true I guess".
"But it can't be".
"Wait.... I hope you're not worried about your baby ".
"I guess I am ".
"You have nothing to worry about sister, you're not the only one naming your baby phoenix, there are a lot of people named phoenix back home.
And besides the story says the phoenix bird's master was a man not a woman.
"Okay sis ".
We talked for a while until I finally ended the call.
