December 21st

I wake to the most delicious smell and the sound of sizzling. I stretch and sit up realizing there is dry drool on my face. Oh god, he definitely seen me. “Where’s the bathroom?” I ask loudly not wanting to see him until I’m more presentable “In the bedroom” he yells back I jump off the couch grabbing my bag and run to the bathroom. This is probably the most organized bathroom I’ve ever seen. I really need a shower but I didn’t ask him if I could take one. Surely he didn’t expect me to not shower the whole time I’m here though. Grabbing my products from my bag I strip down and get in the shower turning it as hot as it will go. It’s amazing in here, he has a rainfall shower head and sliding doors that reach the ceiling so all the steam stays in. I try to be quick but this is potentially the best shower I’ve ever taken. When I go to get out I realize that I don’t have a towel, because I didn’t ask to take a shower and there aren’t any in here. “F**k” I curse myself out load. I’m going to have to yell for him and ask for a towel. “Jack, I umm, I need a towel” I yell loudly hoping he can hear me I wait a minute then when I go to yell again Jack starts opening the door “Is everything ok I heard yelling” his voice sounding concerned I slam the shower door shut and put my back to the wall. “I’m sorry” I shove my head in my hands “I..I need a towel” I shake my head at myself I hear him leave and come back. “It’s on the sink” he says leaving again I am the biggest i***t. I curse myself the whole time I dry off brush my teeth and get dressed. I put on a soft brown sweater and skinny jeans. My long black hair hangs almost down to my butt, hopefully this look will redeem how I looked last night. I walk back out to the living room already feeling extremely embarrassed then Jack makes it even worse with what he says. “Has anyone ever told you that you look like a princess when you sleep?” He smiles at me “No, they haven’t” I say shooting a look at him “Yeah, I didn’t think so” he chuckles “I made some breakfast, it’s bacon eggs and toast.” He says pointing to the table in the kitchen “Thank you” I tell him I go sit at the table to eat and to my surprise he joins me. Did he wait on me to eat? “I really liked the book you gave me, Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favorites” I tell him making a sandwich out of my breakfast “I’m glad you liked it” he stares at the breakfast sandwich I’ve make like he’s never seen one before I take a bite and it’s honestly really good. He’s sexy, can cook, has a nice cabin, how is he not taken? “I’m going to go cut some fire wood after we eat, I’ll be back in a couple hours” he tells me “Ok, I can do this dishes since you did the cooking” I offer “Alright” he nods his head We finish eating in silence then he disappears into his room. When he comes out he’s wearing long sleeve overalls that make him look even bigger than he already is. Without a word he walks out the door in the kitchen. I gather all the dishes and take them over to the sink. There is a large window above it with a perfect view of the back yard. I can see him bringing out large pieces of wood from a shed. The sight of him swinging an axe and what seems like effortlessly cutting the pieces of wood in half has me washing the dishes slower. My ex would never be able to split a piece of wood in half like that he could barely cut up his own steak. He’s really small and almost couldn’t even pick me up, I have no doubt Jack could pick me up with little to no effort. I hadn’t noticed that he had stopped chopping the wood and was staring directly at me. He caught me watching him! I immediately drop down to below the sink where he can’t see me anymore. I’m about to risk walking to my parent’s cabin, I’ve embarrassed myself a record amount of times and I’ve been here less than 24 hours. He’s going to think I’m some kind of freak. My thoughts are cut off because the door swings open and Jack walks in looking directly at me crouched down behind the sink. “You know Camry, it’s rude to stare.” He says tilting his head sideways and smiling at me “I was just admiring your wood splitting abilities” I say still crouched down “Is that why your crouched down behind the sink right now?” He asks his eyebrows raising in amusement “No” I say with a laugh “I just dropped something on the floor and I was looking for it” I very obviously lie pretending to look around for a non existent item “Mmhmm, well I’m going to go finish splitting this wood. If you’d like to join me when your done we can see how your wood splitting abilities are” he smiles at me obviously amused by all of this I stand up when he walks back out the door realizing I’ve only washed one dish?! On another note, was he flirting with me?
