chapter 7

Camilla I still don't understand why you aren't picking his calls Cammy, what exactly is his offence?" My stopped picking on my Christmas socks and stared at my best friend Cain "he indirectly accused me of cheating and he is a control freak, you know how much I hate those set of people" Picking the last pizza from the pack, he divided it into two and offered me half "I think he has gotten the memo that he shouldn't control you, and I still think you should give him a chance to right his wrong" I ignored him and resumed picking my socks. "Aren't you supposed to attend that party with him tomorrow?" "Am actually reconsidering attending" I mumbled He stood up and smacked my head "you are going Cammy. You are my friend and I love you till death but most times you are frustrating to deal with" I was about to tell him how he is also a pain in my ass before the doorbell rang. Cain looked at the door "are you expecting anyone?" I shook my head as I walked to the door; I peered through the door hole but removed my eyes immediately I saw who was behind the door. "Why are you behaving as if you saw my dead mother?" "Cain!!! I chastised "don't mention Mrs. Kevin's name like that" I did a cross sign "bless her soul" "You do realize that whoever that is behind that door is still waiting for you to open right?" I slowly opened the door. Standing there in all glory is Damon with a flower on one hand and a bag on the other. "Cariño_" I fought the urge to fall into his arms. I've had my own share of controlling asshole; I don't want another one added to the list. "What are you doing here Damon?" "You aren't picking my calls or responding to any of my texts, so I came to see you instead. Aren't you going to ask me in?" I jutted my chin out stubbornly "why should__" "Who is that Cammy?" Cain interrupted me; he created space for himself close to me and placed his hand on my shoulder. I saw anger flash through Damon's eyes as he fixed his eyes on Cain's hand that is draped on my shoulder. I expected him to question me on what Cain is doing here but he surprised me instead by offering his hand for a handshake. "It's nice meeting you again__" "Cain Kevin" Cain offered as he placed his hand on Damon's for a handshake. "I'll give you guys time to talk" he gave me the_ don't be a b***h eyes before walking back inside. "You must be very close to him" Still surprised that he had not lashed out yet judging from the anger in his eyes which he's trying to hide. "Is that your own way of asking what he is doing here?" "You have your reasons for having him here. So I'm not bothered with what he's doing here, I trust you" I felt something warm in my heart, whatever anger I thought I had for him dissolved that very minute. I pointed towards the flowers in his grip "are those for me?" He raised the flower and smiled, a smile that made him look younger and more handsome "silly me for waiting for you to point it out" he handed the flower to me before the bag. "Don't open it until tomorrow; I want you to wear it to the party tomorrow that is if you will forgive my sorry ass" I carefully dropped the bag to the floor before throwing my hand over his shoulders in a tight hug. "I forgive you Damon and I'll definitely want to go with you" He squeezed my waist "I missed you cariño" I raised my head to meet his gaze "I missed you too" Whilst stroking my cheeks, he rubbed his thumb on my suddenly dry lips. "I hate it when we fight" Lost in the warmth of his touch, I couldn't form a coherent reply. He placed his lips on mine. He nibbled my lower lips before coaxing me to open. When I did, he sensually stroked my tongue with his. He pressed my body closer to his. His slow and steady pace increased to a fast and hot one. He kept kissing, sucking and nibbling my lips my tongue as if he couldn't get enough of me. After what feels so long but short at the same time, he pulled his lips away from mine but kept his forehead on mine. "Te quiero cariño" My s*x clenched at the sound of his voice. I find it kind of sexy when he speaks Spanish but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to know what it means. "What does it mean?" He gave me a quick kiss on my lips "I'll let you know in due time" running his hands down my arms, he felt the goose pimples that I didn't even feel. "Are you cold?" This isn't my being cold Damon, in fact I am very far from being cold. He confused my silence for acceptance so he picked up the bag I left on the floor and handed it back to me. "You should go inside before you catch a cold" "Why don't you come inside for a cup of coffee?" I offered, silently praying he says yes since I am not ready for him to go just yet. He looked past me to the closed door "nay, I don't think it's a good idea, I also have some errands that I have to run" Feeling a little disappointed, I tried not to let it show. "Ohhh... It's okay, I wouldn't want to keep you from your work" I raised the rose and sniffed it whilst smiling at him "and thanks for the rose and__" I lifted the bag "the bag, and I love them" "Am glad you do" he kissed me on the forehead then gave me a gentle push silently telling me to head inside. I waved him goodbye before retreating inside. This isn't definitely goodnight because I have every intention of chatting him up later. The roaring sound of his engine indicated that he drove already. I turned to a grinning Cain. "Why are you grinning from ear to ear?" "You two looked ready to f**k each other out there" I picked the pillow close to me and threw it to his face "are you kidding me? Were you spying on us Cain?" He shrugged "you stayed too long, considering the fact that you hated him few hours ago. So as a concerned friend, I decided to go check if you need my help only to see that you gat it covered" I dragged his ass out of my sofa "okay.... That's it; it's time for you to get going" "I don't want to go yet" he whined "Get out of my house Cain, I have to work tomorrow" He held his hand to his chest dramatically "you wound me precious one, what did thou do'est to my heart with thy mouth?" I pushed him to the door "I'll see you tomorrow ass hat" "You don't want me to see what's in the bag? Are those his s*x toys?" "I don't even know what is in that bag, but I'll definitely let you know what is in there once I find out tomorrow" He wiggled his brows "awww... So he instructed you not to open it until he says so? That's kinky. I bet that bad contains a vibrator, cuffs, eye bands, whips__" "Jeez Cain, what have you been watching or reading huh? You sound disgusting right now" He walked down the few steps "I sound sweet thank you very much and I've been watching fifty shades of grey" No longer willing to know what my best friend is watching on his leisure, I waved at him and banged my door. I walked back to the living room and stared at the bag as it taunts me to open it. I shook my head to stop myself from doing it. Damon trusted that I wasn't going to open it until tomorrow and I intend to make him keep that trust.
