Thomas sat in the study restlessly. He kept thinking about Jennifer. His hands relentlessly pressed the remote button connected to the large monitor at the front of the room. On the screen was a photo of Alex and some of the data he had just obtained. He was sure Alex had a purpose. He couldn't possibly be sincere friends with Jennifer. Wouldn't it be strange if someone immediately accepted strangers into their life easily. But what exactly was Alex's goal, thought several times. Thomas still couldn't find the answer.
"What are you doing?" asked Jims seeing Thomas behaving unusually. But as soon as he saw the contents of the screen, Jims understood the situation.
"I told you, if Jennifer is with Alex right now. You don't have to worry about security," said Jims.
"That's not what I thought. I'm sure Alex had a purpose. So he let Jennifer into his life. It's very strange for a man to accept a woman he just met, unless there is a specific purpose."
Jim smiled faintly. He sat next to Thomas. The young man beside him was like his own son. Taking care of him since childhood has certainly made Jims get to know Thomas' character, nature and way of thinking.
"Do you know why Jennifer ran away from us?" asked Jim.
"I don't know and I don't understand either," Thomas answered honestly.
"To Jennifer, we are suspicious strangers. We have the most potential to take advantage of her and deceive her."
"Why? We are good to Jennie. You could even say we saved the girl's life," Thomas did not accept that he was a stranger who had to be wary of.
"You and Jennie may have the same fate, namely losing both parents who died when they were children. But Jennie's story is different. After the death of her parents, Jennie was betrayed by two people she loved the most. The person who was closest to Jennie. The only family that Jennie has. If after that incident we suddenly came into Jennie's life and forced a story that we were her father's friends and then intended to help and make Jennie like us, would Jennie just accept it? It's all my fault. I should have don't rush and let Jennie be like before. After that I made an offer and let Jennie decide for herself. Whether Jennie is willing to change her face, change identity and decide for Jennie to join us. But we decided on our own. We've put pressure on her too hard. So that Jennie couldn't take it anymore and chose to leave."
Jims explanation opened up Thomas' understanding. He just realized that Jennifer's departure was Thomas's fault too. Jims was right, he and Jims unknowingly ignored Jennifer's right to decide her own path in life.
"Then, what are we going to do now?" asked Thomas.
"In the meantime, we'll start all over again. Watching Jennifer from afar. Until one day Jennifer comes to see us," said Jims.
"But what about your time. You don't have much time left," Thomas was very worried.
Jims smiled and looked at Thomas with conviction.
"I believe in one thing. Fate will do everything in its own way. If it is destiny, whatever has been determined to happen will still happen. Wherever we try to avoid, fate will still find a way to find us," said Jims.
Thomas was deeply moved by Jims' words. He knew that Jims had fought not only for his country but also for himself. Jims has passed the bitter sweetness of life, thus making Jims' attitudes and thoughts wiser.
Jims tapped Thomas on the shoulder. "Life can't be as we want it to be. We do have the power to determine and make decisions. But above all there is a destiny that we can't change. Therefore, we must always be ready to face the surprises of fate. Whatever it is, prepare your heart, soul and your thoughts." After saying that, Jims walked away.
Thomas took a deep breath. It changes the appearance of the screen. Now the screen is filled with Jennifer's face. There was no denying how Thomas felt about Jennifer. He wished Jennifer always in the protection of fate from bad people.
At another place. Jennifer was cleaning the house, doing the laundry and watering the plants. While Alex was busy typing a novel before all the ideas disappeared from his brain. Every now and then Jennifer looked at Alex. Viewed from any angle, Alex is more suited to be an actor, model and singer. Alex doesn't seem like a writer and a geek.
Jennifer finishes all the work on time. Trash has filled the basket. It's time to throw it in the garbage dump near Alex's house. But when moving the trash into the plastic, Jennifer found a paper with names that Jennifer knew. Jennifer immediately picked up the paper. Once opened, almost all the names there are known to Jennifer.
The names of these people are centered on the circle in the center with the code Liquid AH. And the closest to the circle are the names of Steven and secret agents. Knowing it was very important data, Jennifer immediately tucked the paper into her shirt pocket. Then the trash is thrown away.
Jennifer went back into the house. Alex was still sitting with a serious face. Jennifer will not waste this opportunity.
"Where are you from?"
Alex's rebuke took Jennifer by surprise. "I just took out the trash. Do you need anything?" Jennifer asked.
"No. I'm just surprised I didn't see you a few seconds ago," Alex replied.
"Then I'll go to my room first," said Jennifer and then entered the room. Jennifer stood behind the door trying to calm her beating heart. Then Jennifer opened the paper, folded it properly and kept it somewhere hard for Alex to find. After that Jennifer came out again. This time there is unfinished kitchen work. Jennifer had to cook for lunch, but some of the ingredients for the meal had run out. Jennifer froze. How to ask Alex for shopping money? Even though Jennifer already feels familiar, in some ways she still feels reluctant to do so. Like asking for money.
"Is it time to buy kitchen supplies? I'll take you," said Alex surprising Jennifer.
"Leave me alone. I don't want you to be disturbed. Isn't it really hard to get in the mood to write. You go on ahead. I'd be brave if I just walked to the shop over there."
"I still won't be calm if I let you go alone. Taking you shopping will make me calm. I'll write after dropping you off," said Alex, flashing his deadly smile. That smile made Jennifer unable to refuse Alex's wish.
"Okay. Let's go quickly. So you can write immediately," said Jennifer immediately. His heart couldn't stand it if he kept staring at Alex's face. After all Alex is too handsome. Although sometimes still scary.
